Eda was walking to the kitchen, not being sure how it happened that she was going to Paris with Serkan, Kiraz, and the blonde snake, but one she knew, she needed something stronger, than just chocolate to help her collect the missing pieces of her failing brain.

A home bar was very well equipped, she just might drink the half of it and take the rest for the trip. On the other hand, if she did that, she would risk going to Serkan and giving him a lap dance, or ordering him to strip for her, or both, so maybe she should stick to liquor chocolates. That would be a far wiser move.

Eda was just trying to remember where she saw the stock of pralines Aydan brought a couple of weeks ago from her business trip when she heard Selin's voice. She rolled her eyes. This house really was created for eavesdropping.

She stopped by the railings at the bottom of the stairs and leaned comfortably over them to listen to what Selin had to say this time, and judging by her raised voice, nothing nice about Eda.

"Do you even know what is happening under your nose in your own house? Just next to Kiraz's room?" Selin almost shouted.

"I don't know what are you talking about."

Eda heard the bored voice of Aydan and smirked to herself.

"Serkan didn't hire her for Kiraz but as his escort! Do you even know how much he pays her?! This is not a salary of average help! And he even brought her here to sleep. Are you sure she is sleeping in her bed, not his?"

Eda rolled her eyes and snorted lightly.

"Even if, is this your business?" Aydan asked casually. "And how did you know about the Eda's salary?"

"Serkan put her in our social program in Holding so she can get benefits."

"Serkan put Eda there so she can have paid leave and medical care as our employee, but I wonder why Eda's salary is your concern. Is it because it's higher than yours?"

Eda now had to press her hand to her mouth not to laugh out loud. She had to admit this eavesdropping was kind of fun.

"You can't tell me it's a normal thing to pay so much for taking care of a kid who plays by herself while she sits there and reads magazines. I'm concerned for all of you. After what happened two years ago, I don't want your family to deal with another golddigger."

Eda squinted her eyes, wondering how the blonde snake would react if she would put real snakes into her bed. But decided against it. These innocent animals would probably not survive so much venom.

"I appreciate your concern even if it's not yours." Aydan said dryly. "But do you think caring for my granddaughter isn't worth that much?"

Yeah, Selin, what will you answer to this? Eda murmured under her breath, crossing her arms on her chest.

"I know Serkan needs a nanny, but he never had one and might be inexperienced in hiring one. You should have more saying in this. I can help you find the right trusted agencies."

Eda chuckled. Good luck with that.

"Yes, yes. I personally interviewed Eda and offered her a salary I think is right for caring for my granddaughter. So, as you can see, I took care of Serkan's lack of experience with nannies. And I pay Eda, not Serkan, so she's not even his employee, but mine, and I'm very happy with the job she does for me."

In your face, Selin.

"Boo." Serkan whispered to Eda's ear and she let out a small scream and jumped, losing her balance and almost falling on her bum if not for Serkan, who caught her and looked at her with a big smile, slightly squinting his eyes.
