"Serkan..." Eda whispered, trying to catch her breath, and she pressed her hand to her heart, which wasn't beating that fast for a year.
She couldn't believe her eyes, but he was standing there, in the hotel lobby, dressed in a black suit very similar to the one he wore for their wedding, and was looking at his phone.
Eda stood frozen, afraid that if she moved, he would disappear. She still couldn't believe it, but it was him. It was really him. He really was here.
Serkan picked up his head and looked in her direction but past her as if he didn't see her. His handsome face wasn't betraying any emotion, his eyes were cold, and he looked bored.
"Serkan." Eda approached him with tears in her eyes and stood in front of him, reaching with her hands to touch his face. She smiled with relief, feeling a huge rock falling off her chest, which she thought would always be there. "You're here."
Serkan squinted his eyes, finally looking at her, and when she cupped his cheeks, he flinched a bit and tried to pull back. He gulped and slightly averted his head, as always when he felt uncomfortable.
"I'm sorry, who are you?" He asked in an indifferent tone, taking a step back, and Eda's hands fell off his cheeks.
She looked at him incredulously. "You can't be serious. Serkan, it's me."
"I'm sorry." He looked around as if he was trying to find a way to escape. "But I don't know you."
Eda's eyes widened, and she felt an unpleasant feeling in her stomach. "Is this a new game you play? Why you didn't call me to tell me you're fine? Why didn't you come to me?"
"Excuse me?" Serkan frowned.
"Serkan..." She made a step forward, trying to reach for his hand, but he pulled back again.
"You must've mistaken me with someone else. Now, please, excuse me. I have my family obligation." Serkan spun on his heel to leave when Eda called after him in an angry voice.
"I've mistaken you, but I know your name?!"
Serkan stopped for a second, looked at her with a frown, and went to the restaurant entry.
Eda's blood boiled from anger. What was that? What was he doing? Did he decide after her family almost killed him that he was done with her and left her? Serkan would do that? Her Serkan?
But he was standing in front of her telling her didn't know her. Didn't he love her as much as she loved him? Was she the one stupid in this relationship, and she was just an excitment for him? And when it got hard, he decided it wasn't worth it? She wasn't worth it? After one year of mourning him and wanting to take her life, she wasn't worth him?
Eda was getting more furious with every passing second. She was so hurt, almost as much as when she thought he was dead.
He once agreed with her that there is nothing more dangerous than a hurt woman in love, and he was about to find out to the full extent how dangerous Eda was.
Eda quickly walked toward the restaurant door, and when a waiter left with the tray, she slipped inside and hid behind a big indoor tree.
She looked toward tables where, to her shock, she saw Serkan's parents and the rest of his family mixing with Atakans. Eda's eyes widened when she spotted Serkan talking with his father, and a blonde girl she didn't know was standing a bit too close to him for Eda's liking.
She squinted her eyes, watching them. The girl was giggling and talking in a high-pitched voice, making Eda's skin crawl. But she felt a pang in her stomach when the blonde extended her hand and tried to put it on Serkan's shoulder. He took a step to the side, and her hand brushed his arm. Eda couldn't see his face as he was backturned to her, but she was ready to murder him and everybody in the room.
