"Lieutenant Kim? Lieutenant—"

"Yes?" Jisoo said quietly, turning over a bit lifelessly and tiredly

"There's a homicide reported on Main Street—"

Jisoo waved the new guy off, getting into her assigned vehicle the new guy took to the passenger and sat himself down.

Jisoo stared at the guy in disbelief. The boy like guy didn't seem to pick up the social cue, smiling and nodding eager to head to the scene.

The moment they arrived, Jisoo opened the car door and looked over her shoulder.

"Wait here, it won't take long." She grumbled.

Just as she was about to open the door again the guy seemed eager to be out of his seat.

He looked like he was trembling. "B-but Lieutenant, I'm assigned to help assist you—"

"Listen, I don't give a fuck about your instructions. I told you to wait, so shut the fuck up and wait here." She growled, getting out of the car and slamming it shut.

She took a look at the yellow tape wrapped around the old grungy property, squinting at the crowd of people. She walked briskly,

"Joe Frollen here from Channel 8. Can you confirm this is a homicide?"

"I'm not confirming anything." Jisoo said stoically, walking past them and pulling the tape up.

She only took 5 steps before she stopped and rolled her eyes hearing what was happening behind her.

"Sir, you're not permitted here. Officers only—"

"He's with me." Jisoo said, turning around seeing her 'partner' fumble with his ID badge.

The patrol officer held the tape up and the boy ran over, bowing deeply and smiling sheepishly.

"Either show the ID to the officer every time you come into the scene or wear it around your neck where it's visible. Stumble like that again and I'll write you a shot for that. Understood?"

"Understood!" He said quite loudly, a bit too excitedly for Jisoo's liking.

"Fucking punk." She mumbled under her breath.

"Huh? I didn't catch that Lieutenant?" He said obliviously.

She turned to him, smiling to him sarcastically. "Nothing."

"Hey! Lieutenant!" Waved BamBam who had a clipboard in his hand and started to walk alongside Jisoo.

He was one of the few young men in the police academy way back when Jisoo was working there part time, he was part of her investigational crew at the police department.

Along with others members like Bobby and Lisa, they had a strong friendship that had lasted for years, they were her friends.

"Neighbours heard some disruptions 3 nights ago, and when they didn't see the guy walk out of his house for a couple of days they called the landlord."

BamBam gave her a piece of paper and Jisoo pocketed it immediately, reaching over for some gloves.

"They complained about the foul smell coming from one of the windows, and that's where the landlord found the body."

"God that smell." Jisoo mumbled, pulling on her shirt to cover her nose when she walked into the scene.

"It was worse before the window opened." BamBam briefed further about the crime scene. "Victim's name is Zhang Yixing, has a history of drug abuse and assault."
