"Mom?" Jisoo said, following her mom around the supermarket.
"Yes dear?"
"Can we go?" The Lieutenant whined, carrying a bag full of spinach.
"No, we're waiting for the meat I ordered earlier." She said, turning around giving Jisoo a free dumpling sample. "Your father is going to be home in an hour so we will have time."
Jisoo walked by the candy aisle and slipped in a bag of jellies and as soon as Mama Kim heard the bag hit the shopping cart she stared at it.
Her mother took one glance at Jisoo and deadpanned. "Put it back." She hissed.
The Lieutenant sighed, picking it up she held it in her arms. "I'll pay for it myself." She muttered under her breath.
"Be my guest, and get the smaller pack I don't want you to eat that much."
Jisoo threw her hands up in disbelief. "Mom!"
"Just looking out for you dear." Her mother simply replied, slipping in a couple more ingredients for the hot pot they were going to have.
The blonde was afraid of having dinner with her dad only because dinner time is when they always talk about life. Plus, she hasn't seen her dad in months because he was overseas for a business trip.
"When we get home we're going to have to boil the broth, but in the meantime you can strip and peel and clean all the vegetables!" Her mother clapped excitedly.
"Okay."
As promised, Mama Kim made her go through 4 mini crash courses on cooking. Only because Jisoo was home for the weekend.
She kept burning herself and making mistakes, her mother yelled at her ferociously and she was so bad she got kicked out of the kitchen and Jisoo was tasked doing other chores around the house.
Stuff like taking out the garbage, sweeping the floor, cleaning up the fireplace. She played with her parent's dog, waiting for dinner and when the door unlocked in came her dad that made her internally squirm inside.
She sat up, standing up she presented herself a bit more professional. Jisoo didn't know how to approach him. She didn't know how much he knew about her relationship with Jennie or if he was still that same cold man.
Their relationship was rocky to say the least, her becoming a police officer than an accountant caused many fights between her and her father.
Her dad looked up in surprise. "Oh Jisoo." He said warmly, smiling. Jisoo treaded carefully, going over to hug her dad briefly.
"Hi dad." She let go and helped him with his briefcase, sliding a pair of slippers his way he chuckled. "You're a fast one, huh?"
Jisoo nodded, shuffling into the kitchen just because she was a little shy around her dad.
"Go set up the table and then take out the burner from the closet." Mama Kim said without sparing a glance at her daughter.
The Lieutenant did what she was told but her father was staring at her from the couch she shifted uncomfortably.
"Jisoo." He called, noticing the change of expression around him.
"Yeah?" She fiddled with the burner, unable to get it lit up.
He stood up, walking over to her he pulled her into a hug, kissing her forehead. "You're doing okay kiddo."
"Kids are gross." Jisoo mumbled.
Her father bursted out laughing, helping her settle the pot of broth on the burner. Her father clapped, impressed by how many things she was able to do under her moms command without injuring herself.
