Jiyoung sat flush against his chair. He was scratching his head, blindsided by the sudden announcement.
"Wait." Joohyun stopped Jennie, waving a fork in the air. "So you're telling me, we're done here."
"No, no well. Okay, we will, it's just we're gonna be based back in L.A again!" Jennie said excitedly, picking off Joohyun's plate and the older girl let her.
Dara looked at Jennie across the table, she wouldn't say she was surprised but she didn't expect it to be so soon.
"Why?" Her mentor asked her simply. Jiyoung sat up straight and looked too sad for Jennie's liking.
"First of all, Jiyoungie, I'm not leaving you here we're all going back, except Dara unnie because the old hag likes it here." Jennie shoved him playfully.
"Watch it young lady." Dara jokingly threatened, sipping on her tea.
"It's just, I miss home, I miss our friends and my family back there.. there's nothing else to do here." She said sadly, her eyes flickering to the 3 sets of eyes staring at her. "I met my goal, I finished it, I can make new ones but I just wanna do them back home."
Dara nodded. "How long have you thought about this."
"Like.. 2 days.?" Jennie said.
Joohyun's face dropped. "2 days and you're already deciding to move back home? What about the business, what about the upcoming projects—"
"I can run everything overseas. I don't have any projects, but you do. But you can run that back home too.. I mean I wanted to let you have a break so I assumed you're coming home with me too?"
Joohyun sighed. "It's so annoying to move back and forth, granted we've only been here for less than a year. But whatever."
"If you don't want to.. I'll just go by myself.. and Jiyoung Oppa..." Jennie paused herself. "If you guys want to.. if not that's okay. Me and Jisoo will go back. I'm also firm on my decision, and you know how I am when I make one."
Joohyun didn't disagree. "Yeah, I'll come with. We'll open a boutique together back home, and we'll settle in our new design studio.. we can actually make that happen."
"Yay!" Jennie clapped. She looked at Dara cutely, as if she was seeking her approval.
Little did she know that Dara wasn't going to stop her or say no this time, only because Jennie did what she wanted to do and she respected her wishes.
"Well, you have established yourself quite well, and you are now a social media influencer.. you can do everything you do here back home." Dara said. Jiyoung deflated and Joohyun wasn't too upset with the idea.
"Yeah, and I want the twins to be born in the US too. Jisoo also.. she really likes it back home and I think it's just better for us." Jennie said. She sounded unsure about herself but then she soon nodded. "Yeah, I want this. I want this for me." And Jisoo.
"Okay, well no ones going to stop you." Dara has her go ahead in the form of giving Jennie half of her pumpkin pie.
"You promise me you'll visit?" Dara asked.
"Uh huh, I'll bring the 'kids'." She smiled, referring to Joohyun and Jiyoung.
Joohyun gave her the prettiest smile and clapped her hands, wherever her best friend went she would follow. Plus, they were to launch a business together, all 3 of them under Dara's company.
Jiyoung was sitting there scraping the plate, he was sulking quite a bit and Jennie just had to ask.
"Jiyoungie, what's wrong?"
