"Oh honey, you're home early." Her mother said from the couch, watching the Lieutenant fumble with her shoes.
"Yeah, Jennie's got something to do so I came home." She sat on the floor with her puppies, playing with them as she watches her mother make food.
"Don't make too much, we're going out for dinner remember?"
"It's just soup." Mama Kim put the lid on the pot and when she saw from the corner of her eye how her husband was practically glaring at Jisoo, she eyed him directly.
The man didn't even look up once, eyes still trained on Jisoo.
He was clutching the tourist brochure in his hand, crumpling it up when Jisoo was oblivious to what was happening.
"Mom, do you like Dalgom? I know you think there's too many, and you never really liked pets but do you?" Jisoo let Dalgom nip her finger and when she reached for the bag of treats she giggled, getting trampled for many pairs of paws.
"Mom?" Jisoo called, when she looked up to the couch she saw how hostile her father became. He was lasering his eyes into her.
She stopped petting the dogs and got up.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Jisoo said seriously.
The man cocked his head, slamming the brochure down. "You're such a disgrace." He spat.
The Lieutenant clenched her fist.
Of course you'd say the very word that drove me away from you again.
Of course you fucking did, because you know how much it gets me riled up.
I can't even come home without you making me uncomfortable.
I just want a couple of moments with my mother, but you always seem to really like ruining that.
You're looking for someone to fight with, and I'm perfect, because you know I fight back.
Brother didn't fight back, and your youngest daughter didn't either.
But I do.
Mama Kim sighed. She wasn't sure if she wanted to call Jennie but she did stand near her husband, afraid he'd lash out at her again.
"She's pregnant. She's fucking pregnant and you—"
Jisoo shook her head, cutting him off, "I don't want to hear it."
"You cheated on her and she had to endure her pregnancy alone!" He yelled.
"I came after! She wasn't alone for that long!" Jisoo yelled back, matching his volume.
"How could you do that to her! How could you? After everything she's done for you!"
"Don't you know the things I do for her too?! I am your daughter, why do you never remember that!" Jisoo said through gritted teeth.
Jisoo's father towered over the Lieutenant, but she didn't waver. "You cheated on her! The one thing you needed to do was be faithful! You don't deserve her!"
"I still think about it everyday, what do you want from me, dad?!" She shouted, her voice cracked.
"My daughter is faithful, my daughter doesn't hurt others like you do!" He gave her a small petty slap upside the head, making Jisoo step back.
"It was a shitty mistake, stop bringing it up!" Jisoo threw her hands up, palms itching.
"I need you to remember it for the rest of your fucking life because those two kids will never know the shit you've put their mother through!"
