For some reason she couldn't think anymore when they called her name.

Her full name, not even her title that everyone usually calls her.

"Will you come see your babies?" The nurse had said.

My babies? They're okay? They're here..

What about Jennie..

I.. get to see them? My babies?

The Lieutenant followed the nurse through the door and she didn't glance back.

She shuffled quietly down the hall, the nervous and anxious Lieutenant feeling so tiny.

"I-is she okay?" She said shakingly.

The nurses nodded. "There were some complications, but she's recovering nicely."

The Lieutenant gulped at the word complications.

Did she dare ask? No. At least not now.

"My twins? T-They're okay right?" She whispered quietly.

The nurse had a soft smile and slowed down her walk. She put her arm around Jisoo, giving her reassuring pats.

"Your children are beautiful, and healthy. There's no need to worry." The woman said, opening the door for Jisoo.

But I worry.

The Lieutenant carefully stepped inside, she was timid and afraid.

Jennie was laying down on the bed with it slightly inclined.

She had her eyes closed and the Lieutenant feared the unknown.

She didn't like things she didn't know about, like the tubes sticking out of her hand? The numbers on the monitor and the fat paper chart at the foot of her bed.

The Lieutenant carefully crept in and decided to grab the nearest chair.

She nestled it beside Jennie and the bed, wanting to be as physically close as she could.

The little squeaks of her foot on the floor made by her and the sound of the chair made her cautious and on her toes.

The Lieutenant sighed, hearing Jennie's steady breathing as she settled down.

She thread her fingers with Jennie's, touching her hand she soon felt the white bandage wrapped around the woman's hand and up to her wrist.

The Lieutenant carefully looked up at Jennie.

You're here.. you're okay? Bless you.

She hid her tears, holding it at bay when she realized that Jennie was here with her and sleeping peacefully.

She stood up and leaned above her, pressing a firm kiss on her forehead. Her lips lingered there for long.

You smell like flowers.

Your hair is still so soft.

Your skin.. warm.

The woman you are.

She sat back down quietly, afraid she'd wake her up because with Jennie just laying there, there wasn't a doubt in her mind that she must've been exhausted, and hurting.

Jisoo touched Jennie's fingers, stroking them because she didn't know how else to hold her.

She laid her head down on the bed, right next to the designer's hand.

The Lieutenant brought it up to her cheek and laid it there, her hot tears running down the side of her face.

I wasn't there with you when you.. gave birth.
