"This is what happens when you eat in my car." Jisoo muttered bitterly, wiping off the dashboard.
"It's not my fault." Jennie beamed, licking her fingers.
The Lieutenant sighed. "Well, next time hold onto your fries—"
"Then don't stop so abruptly! How am I supposed to know you're going to stop and make my fries fly across the car!" Jennie grabbed the tissues from Jisoo's hand, making the Lieutenant sigh.
"Jendeuk there were ducks on the road I didn't want to.. roll over them."
"Then drive slower next time! I'm pregnant with our babies and you drove so fast—"
"I was within speed limit." Jisoo interrupted, helping Jennie out of the car.
"I will kill you." Jennie mumbled, turning around. "Wait." She paused. "Wait where are we?"
"Uh." Jisoo discarded the trash in the car and went to tie Jennie's shoe laces. "Home?" She said.
"What are you talking about?" Jennie shoved Jisoo gently, she didn't want to be joking about that right now.
The Lieutenant patiently waited for her to notice.
Jennie eyes widened when she saw the house. Instantly she recognized what she saw, the gated entrance, the beach, everything.
Jisoo smiles, eyes wandering to the blonde's pretty eyes.
The Lieutenant opened the trunk of the car, placing the big cooler on the floor ground. She had other stuff too, and the designer wasn't sure why.
"What is all this?"
"Me trying to make it up to you." The Lieutenant simply said. She carried the cooler to the door, stopping to fetch the keys in her pocket.
Jennie was anxious, she wanted to go in so bad.
When she opened the door, the designer raced up the stairs, leaving Jisoo at the foyer.
She remembered exactly where everything was and ran up the stairs, opening her parents' room.
Mom!
The designer ran her finger along the old school vanity. She admired the old tinted yellow photos shoved in the corner of the mirror, thinking her parents looked so young and happy.
Jennie went to open the curtains and propped a window up too, letting fresh air and her memories to flow back inside.
"I met your dad at the police station. He gave me the keys to the house and told me he wanted us to have it." Jisoo said quietly at the door, watching Jennie.
"He saw you on TV, said he wanted to give this to the twins." The Lieutenant muttered.
"Oh." Jennie whispered, hands running along the bed. The designer was sad, she didn't think her dad would do that for her.
"D-did he say anything?"
"No, he just left it to you. He says he's going back to Korea."
Jennie gulped. "Sh-should I say something?" Jennie whispered, the good golden heart of hers always was shining, even if her father had put her through the worst.
Jisoo sighed and shook her head honestly. "I don't think your siblings would be too happy, but I think if you wrote him a letter, he'd like it."
Jennie kept quiet, playing with her fingers.
"People come and go, you've been without him for years. He's made you suffer for a long time, don't forget. But I'm just telling you, his actions back then were vile, but maybe.. he's learning?" Jisoo said.
