The next couple of days Dara gave the Lieutenant a break, something must've happened but she was due for work tomorrow.
She had trouble sleeping.
The Lieutenant would lay in bed at 1-2 AM, falling asleep at 3ish. But would toss and turn the entire night, sometimes even getting up.
She was restless, and suddenly her days had a blinding headache.
Her body would crave a nap. She would be on cups of coffee everyday.
But she didn't question it and spent the time trying to relax and go out with her old crew before it was time to fly back to London eventually.
"Oh God Lieutenant." Lisa muttered, shaking her head at the sight of her.
"Look away if I'm such an eye sore." She hissed.
Bobby laughed, elbowing Lisa. "Get roasted and toasted."
Jisoo went to sit at the station's new first aid center. She greeted all her colleagues who remembered her and walked by, but most of them just stared at the way her side of the head looked.
"Do I look that bad?" She asked, poking Hoony who was also here.
The man was fine since the knife wound wasn't as deep as they predicted. But he did have trouble walking for some reason and the doctors think he broke something in his food.
"You look like a bruised peach."
"I don't."
"Like a really badly bruised bloody peach. I thought that was blood, but it's just the way your bruise coloured."
"It's also a burn, the blank shot practically seared the side of my head."
"That's fucking disgusting don't tell me that."
"Yeah it smelt like burnt meat but I also had like liquid discharge coming out of my ear from my ruptured eardrum." Jisoo continued.
"Oh god, shut up. Can you even hear properly?"
The Lieutenant shook her head. "It's healing slower than usual and I'm scared I'll have hearing loss."
Hoony clicked his tongue, stretching his arm out for the nurse to rebandage it.
Jisoo did the same except she just lent her head to the nurse and watched the man pick at the bandage and small gauze.
"Wow Lieutenant.."
"I know, shut up." She said rolling her eyes. "I'm fine."
As they finished reapplying new patches of gauze and bandages for the officers, Hoony and Jisoo were sitting on the benches waiting for further instructions.
Hoony turned to the Lieutenant, shoving her teasingly.
"I know we haven't talked much since the Oscars.. but I actually heard about the details of what happened with you and the guy that you almost stabbed with a pen."
"Hm?"
"You got fired.. but I didn't think it was justified at all."
Hoony resigned soon after the incident, and he was due to move back home here.
He was going to retake a position back in the police department and that excited Jisoo.
But she was far from home, but it made her eager to finish her new small contract with Dara, and return here.
She thought maybe she can go back to the police department again, depending on her health, but if she was struggling she thought maybe she should enlist.
