Jennie came outside the backyard to call Jisoo in for dinner.
She figured after their small fight she'd spend time with Jisoo even if it meant being on her feet since nowadays she's rather not.
When Jisoo came inside, the Lieutenant greeted her parents and gave her a kiss. But then went to do things by herself, to Jennie it seemed like she was distancing herself away from her.
"Jisoo?"
"Yeah?" The Lieutenant was busy playing catch with their puppies out in the backyard.
She felt the designer stand beside her and she turned, thinking she was the prettiest girl in the world other than the small frown she had on her face.
"Are you okay? I'm sorry." Jennie said, although she wasn't looking at her.
"I'm fine." The Lieutenant said, looking behind her. She felt like she was being watched by her parents, but when she thought the coast was clear, she gave Jennie a quick kiss on her cheek.
Like a little white flag waving in the air, she didn't want to fight anymore.
The designer was shy, and the Lieutenant saw how she was blushing.
Before she could respond to Jisoo's kiss, her parents were actually peeping at them from the window.
"Jisoo! Jennie! The news is on!"
"What news?" Jisoo mumbled, crouching down to carry their puppies in her arms.
"You're on the news again, your parents have been waiting for it the whole day."
The Lieutenant was unsure what made it on the news but she wasn't too happy.
The family gathered around the one television and when the footage of the barber shop shootout was playing, they highlighted her response and actions.
"You look so cool Jisoo!" Her mother said.
Her dad was busy critiquing her posture and whatnot, giving her pointers in what she could've done.
"Dad, I literally hid behind a chair because there was no cover."
Her dad shrugged. Then again, dads always acted as if they knew everything.
"Jennie, finish the soup. I still have a little porridge I want to give you." Her mother said distastefully.
Jennie gave the cutest nod, but she tugged on the back of Jisoo's shirt to gain her attention.
"You're famous, again."
Jisoo scoffed, standing in front of the television. Her mother rolled up one side of her sweatpants leg up just to poke and pride the gauze.
"Mom." Jisoo said annoyed, trying to move away.
'Lieutenant Kim of the LAPD is the same officer who just a few months ago heroically stopped a suspect on foot showcasing her skills and quick thinking—'
'But what you may not know is that she's the partner and the same bodyguard of the famous social mogul and designer, Ruby Jane Kim.'
"Oh honey that's you!" Her mother squealed, pointing out how the news station picked out a pretty photo of Jennie.
Jisoo's dad patted her on the back, giving his approval.
The Lieutenant sighed in her hand. "Ah shit. Not this again."
"What? You don't like it?" Mama Kim said, her eyes twinkling.
Moms are always proud of whatever you do.
