Jennie ran into Chaeyoung's arms, hugging her dearly.
"I missed you!" She squealed, hearing Chaeyoung's glorious laughs.
Chaeyoung was there picking her up at Los Angeles airport, where she was going to stay for a couple of days because of the award ceremony event going on, she was invited so she thought she'd come early.
"You changed your hair?! You're blonde?!"
Jennie flipped her hair dramatically, looking like a princess. "Do you like it?"
"Oh my god." Chaeyoung squealed, jumping up and down around Jennie.
"Okay, get in the car sugar."
"I need to buy some groceries." She muttered.
"I wanna come."
"Ms. Ruby Kim, superstar of the world, wanting to go to a grocery store?!" Chaeyoung gasped, making Jennie slap her thigh teasingly.
The pair were shopping for hotpot ingredients, and when Jennie was roaming around the candy area her eyes glazed over some of the packets and instantly she picked them up.
She didn't even like them, but Jisoo did. The Lieutenant adored gummies.
She was walking a bit backwards, not knowing where she was going, eyes still on the candy aisle. "Chaeyoung?" She called, looking for the taller woman.
"Jennie." The low growl came out and Jennie turned around at the source of the voice, frowning immediately when she did.
She felt a grab on her arm and she flung it away, stepping back.
"Jennie, you-you're back." Her father said, a hint of relief in his voice, he still didn't look any better than when she left.
Her father placed down his basket and she saw all the alcoholic drinks in it.
The designer didn't have anything to say, she hadn't seen the man for a very very long time. It must've been 6 years? Or a couple more.
"Who told you? And what difference did it fucking make." She harshly whispered.
"Jisoo did. You guys broke up, didn't you?" He said quietly, for some odd reason his eyes were already tearing up and she didn't know why.
"Okay? Why does it concern you if we did?" She snapped.
"I thought I could never see you ever again." Her dad said, cupping her hand. She let go, wiping her hands on her jeans.
"Don't touch me." She hissed. "We never saw each other after I cut you off years ago, what the hell are you talking about?"
Her father nodded, understanding what she wanted. "Before Jisoo left the city she gave me money for the last time. She told me you guys broke up and then she never answered my calls again."
"S-She what?!" Jennie whispered harshly, grabbing her father's jacket.
"You realize she was my only link to you?"
"O-Only link? Are you serious? I can't believe you!"
He shook his head. "Jennie, I'm so sorry, I missed you."
Jennie scoffed. "Because after she left, she stopped paying your fucking bills and as soon as I come home the first thing you do is beg—"
"I'm not begging. I'm not asking you to pay for me."
"This is exactly what you're doing, wanting me to come back just so I'd pay your—"
"When Jisoo left, I realized that I could never get back in touch with you." Her dad interrupted.
