"Jen?"
"Yeah?"
"If I make the dress out of cashmere, do you think the texture will look good under the white lights?"
"It'll look like a lot of fuzz, not gonna lie."
"Damn it." Joohyun muttered, dropping the pen in her hand. She strolled over and landed her head in Jennie's lap groaning in tiredness.
The brunette combed through Joohyun's hair, listening to her rant about dumb stuff.
She looked at the big glass pane and the view of her new place wasn't really satisfying. It was different and she was no stranger to embracing new experiences, but the view didn't feel right.
She flipped through the TV channels, trying to put on a movie to cheer up Joohyun who was stressed about deadlines.
The sound of the word Lieutenant and Kim together in a sentence made her stop channel surfing. She watched the news segment with the viral video of the officer taking down a man bigger than her.
It was plastered everywhere and was the talk of the town, people who didn't know the couple personally assumed they were still together and congratulated Jennie. They often praised the Lieutenant in front of her, they said she was so lucky to have an officer as sharp and keen as Jisoo was.
But they didn't know what happened.
Jennie for awhile couldn't avoid news about Jisoo, not when it was in every social media platform.
After that night where the couple poured their heart out, that same night Jisoo laid a hand on Jennie, the woman decided on that spot to leave.
Her heart was in such a bad place, it felt horrible. It was her breaking point and leaving was probably the hardest thing she could've done, but she was a woman of choices. She didn't regret it one bit.
She remembered that night vividly because she was in a rush to pack all her bags, she gathered a lot of her possessions and left many behind.
She was afraid that Jisoo would wake up and she wouldn't have the courage to leave. Luckily, the Lieutenant didn't.
And of all things she grabbed, she kept the police radio which was now sitting propped up on her coffee table where she worked on her tasks late at night. It accompanied her, but the radio had gone a bit quiet.
Sometimes there were calls in for Jisoo, and she would hear the raspy tired voice of hers.
It was kind of like keeping tabs on the officer, yet she left nothing for Jisoo to come and look for her or talk to her.
She made her friends vow now to speak of it and not give out any information. She did however, ask her closet friend and colleague to keep an eye on Jisoo. She simply told Bobby, 'watch over her, talk to her.'
She wanted to see how it could be to live alone for awhile since she realized she leaned on Jisoo a lot.
Yet she still kept her phone number the same. She still let Jisoo call her from time to time, she didn't have the heart to go completely incognito mode since she knew from Bobby and her crew that the Lieutenant wasn't taking the news greatly.
It sucked to hear Jisoo call her only when the Lieutenant was drunk, that was the worst part because she knew Jisoo didn't have the courage to do it while sober.
Jennie was free lancing for awhile, still undecided about moving to London despite her mentor egging her on about it.
Jennie took the time to heal, she did what she wanted. She was okay, for awhile her friends called her Ms. Resilience because of how she happened to bounce back up.
