She sat quietly outside the emergency room where Jennie was.
Her head was down in her hands and she muttered things over and over.
Her police radio was on the floor and she dropped her ID lanyard on the seat.
Everyone came. Everyone closet to the couple had come after hearing the news.
They checked in with the Lieutenant, offering her gentle pats and water or snacks to keep her going but she wanted nothing more than to be alone.
"Are you okay?" Chaeyoung asked.
And Jisoo nodded.
"You want anything?" Bobby said, gesturing a cup of coffee to her.
She shook her head.
"I'm okay." She lied. Her throat, dry and bitter.
A little lie wouldn't hurt anyone.
At this time? I don't want them to worry about me.
Everyone very much knew she wasn't okay. It was blatantly obvious but no one wanted to speak up on it, afraid Jisoo would break down.
"No one could love Jennie like Jisoo does. Knowing her, she's probably blaming herself." Hoony muttered to Chaeyoung, his hands in his pockets.
"She has a habit of doing that these days. I just hope she doesn't beat herself up too much, she's been doing better and I'd hate to see her relapse." She whispered.
The Lieutenant swallowed.
I hear everything.
I hear you two.
"I hope Unnie is okay. I want Unnie to be okay." Lisa said, biting on her fingers. She sighed in frustration. "I promised Unnie I'd stop being mischievous. I'd be a good girl! A good woman.."
Jiyoung sat beside Lisa, nodding with her. "Jennie has the strength of a ferocious tiger. She would never give up, no matter how hard the fight is."
I know she'll fight.
She'll give everything she's got.
But I can't help but worry.
The strong clicks of heels and the Lieutenant recognized the walking pattern. She turned her head slightly.
Dara looked around for the group, her eyes settling for Joohyun and she quickly went to her as she was the nearest one.
"Is she okay? Is the twins okay? Any updates, what's going on?" She breathlessly let out.
Joohyun shook her head sadly. "She's been in there for a while, no updates yet."
Dara let out an audible sigh, her posture was no longer poised.
She was worried, the way she stood said it all.
"She's due in a month and if anything happens to the twins, I—"
The Lieutenant looked up at Dara, her eyes red and teary she didn't want to hear what would happen. She didn't want to think about it.
Jisoo looked away, she felt herself combusting and imploding.
She wanted to know what happened now, she wanted results answers or anything indicative of Jennie's well being.
I'm frustrated.
I'm so.. torn.
I feel broken inside.
When Dara put a hand on her shoulder she just about lost it.
