Inviting Jake to stay on their hammock wasn't the brightest idea.

Mukata held a grudge against Sky-people, and especially those in army attire.

They had ruined Mukata's family — killed his parents. Why did he have to welcome Jake with open arms and mind?

"Why does he have to sleep with us? Can't he own his own hammack?" Mukata asked, Jake watching as Denahi paced around and collected a few loincloths for him to wear.

She huffed at Mukata and straightened her back to talk to him, "He is staying with us. Leave it at that, Mukata! Now, get ready for the feast."

Jake didn't understand what was being said but the tone of Denahi's voice told him it wasn't one piece of positive.

"He killed our parents, Denahi!" Mukata finished his shouting.

Denahi's shoulders slouched and her ears pinned against her head.

Jake watched her stance change, his ears also dropping once noticing the hurt expression on her delicate features.

"Please, Kata... We are late enough," Denahi begged before walking close to Jake.

Jake offered her a small smile after Denahi handed him the loincloth. "And what do I do with these?" He asked her, bouncing the clothing.

Denahi chuckled, pointing at Mukata to show him how to wear them, "Change. I will turn around."

Mukata scoffed and hissed at Jake, running to join the teenagers that had also been late to the clan's daily feast.

"So... Denahi, that your brother?" Jake asked as he continued to dress himself.

Denahi only frowned before sighing, "Is it not obvious?"

Jake chuckled to himself, he remembered his usual bickering with Tom. It was common within sibling relationships.

"Are you done yet?" Denahi asked him.

Jake only lowly growled in frustration as he couldn't tie the loincloth against his hips. He turned around to Denahi, using his free hand to tap against her shoulder, "Wouldn't mind lending me a hand, eh?"

Denahi nodded before moving her fingertips down Jake's side.

His cheeks flushed, actually flushed.

As Jake felt Denahi's fingers gently touch his skin, with her soft skin, he couldn't deny the heat that formed across his flesh.

Denahi didn't even notice the way Jake's eyelids fell heavy as he looked down at her.

"There..." Denahi said, finishing her tying.

Jake nodded his head once in acknowledgment, feeling the tightness around his waist.

"Come, come," Denahi held onto Jake's wrist, pulling him towards the fire that cooked their fresh feast.

As Jake walked through the squatted crowd of the Na'vi people, he couldn't help but repeatedly apologise after standing on their tails or queues.

Denahi only rolled her eyes in response, pulling Jake's shoulder down so he'd land on the floor.

After he sat down, and Mukata handed them their meals, Denahi noticed a little girl peering over her father's knee to smile proudly at Jake.

But, she was only pulled back and warned by her father which caused Jake to laugh.

"Your name is quite... strange," Denahi looked at him, remembering his name was Jake Sully.

Jake's eyebrows furrowed as he began to tuck into his food, "Really? What's yours?"

"Denahi Te Tsaro Nokae'Ite," Denahi quoted her full name which caused Jake to widen his eyes and escape a laugh. "Oh," Was all he could reply as Mukata tutted besides them.
