♯┆calm before the storm .ᐟ ━━━━━━━━━━
It was all so sudden. Too sudden. The RDA took no time attacking their Hometree. Denahi was too struck to move. Her entire body froze, feet glued to the ground. "Have no fear!" But that was all she could feel. It was too overwhelming for her. The sounds of the attack reminded her of her parents. "Denahi, baby! Let me get to her!" He shouted at them when he noticed her stance.
She was terrified. He knew that. A woman who hadn't been in war before. The sound of gunfire reminding her of what had happened to her parents— the same thing that will happen to her people right now. Neytiri ran towards Denahi and shook her from her shock, "This... Neytiri, we have to let them go. We have to let them go."
"No, Denahi. You have to go!" Neytiri warned her, pointing to the direction. Her head shook at Neytiri's orders. Denahi grabbed the bow around her stomach and aimed it high at the large aircraft.
Now wasn't the time to be scared. She had to be strong. For herself and Mukata. The aircraft dropped smoke bombs at the bottom of Hometree to blind the Na'vi, but nothing could stop her from shooting the aircraft.
And then bombs hit. Fire within a dry forest could mean nothing but destruction. She gasped as she looked over at Hometree, hand covering her mouth in shock. Her home. Everything that belonged to her was inside. And it was being destroyed without care.
"Everyone to the forest!" Eytukan ordered his people because no matter how much they fought back, nothing seemed to work.
But, Denahi couldn't leave them. She searched through her frantic people and to Jake and Grace's binded bodies. Her body stumbled over the ground, her chest breathing too heavy for her to control. She had to do this. She had to set them free.
"Baby, you have to go!" Jake told her as he tried to push her in the direction of the rest of her people. She cannot leave without him. She won't leave without him. Her hands pulled him with her. "Go find Mukata. I'll be back, okay?" He said before touching her cheek in a secure gesture. Denahi nodded before running with all of her people.
Denahi coughed at the smoke filling the air. And the Na'vi had much larger lungs than human. Proving how much those demons were destroying her home.
That was when she heard a crumble. And then a large bang. Her people screaming in complete fear, some screams being cut short as the tree fell on top of them. Her home had fallen. Hometree was destroyed. Her belongings had been destroyed. "Come, my People, we have to leave..." There was one place they could reach solace— The Tree of Souls. A place that hadn't been touched.
The sounds of babies babbling, their mother's crying, fathers searching for a way to protect their family. Family. "Kata! Mukata! Where are you?" Denahi shouted throughout the crowds of Na'vi's. She couldn't lose him. She already lost her parents. She couldn't lose the one person she got to call her family member.
Mukata was all Denahi had left. "I'm here, Nahi! I'm here..." Mukata yelled back, pushing through some people. Denahi took him into her arms without a second thought, and he didn't let it embarrass him, "Thank Eywa you are okay." He lovingly stared up at his sister, chin resting on her shoulder. "Are you harmed?" She asked before pulling apart and searching his flesh for wounds.
Mukata shrugged his shoulders before noticing the only injuries Denahi had was the one on her back, from earlier.
