Happiness is simple.

It started off so simple.

Denahi was covered in sweat as Mo'at handed them their new addition, Malhua.

Her tears of joy was loud as Jake grabbed Denahi's queue and instantly connected it to Malhua— a bond that will never break.

Her tongue smacked against the roof of her mouth, telling Jake she was dehydrated.

He grabbed the water and fed it to Denahi.

"Can we see her yet, dad?" The excited voice of their eldest, Neteyam, asked.

All the others were hid behind the closed door.

Their feet tapping against the floor with anticipation to meet their sibling.

Jake couldn't help but laugh, running his hands into Denahi's hair and felt as she settled her head into his palm.

He cleared his throat, "Yeah, come in, kids."

Lo'ak was the first to enter, running towards his mom with a bright smile.

Jake felt as Tuk hugged his leg, lifting her into his arms.

"Is it a girl?" Neteyam asked.

Denahi nodded, "Your little sister."

He smiled at that, moving his whole body closer to his little sister.

Malhua was calm, and almost dropping to sleep.

Kiri followed Neteyam, Lo'ak already slinging his whole body next to Denahi's, declaring that the perfect place to lay.

Jake laughed at his son— how he loved his mom.

But, Jake couldn't blame him.

Denahi was perfect.

She was understanding, someone they would all cuddle and cry to when Jake had to discipline them.

Denahi would sometimes scold him, thinking at times he was being too harsh.

But, Denahi knew kids needed consequences.

If they didn't learn, how would they grow?

It just hurt to see them upset over something their parents had caused.

"What is her name?" Kiri questioned.

Tuk rested her head onto Jake's shoulder, being so young she was ready to fall asleep, too.

"Her name..." Denahi said before thinking about her brother, Mukata, and his ikran, Hua, "Her name is Malhua."

"She is my favourite, already," Neteyam whispered as he didn't want to wake Mulhua.

Denahi chuckled, "I'm sure she is, Teyam."

Mo'at had finished her healing on Denahi, wishing them the best before leaving the hut.

"Does that mean we can go flying tomorrow?" Lo'ak asked, tiredly.

Denahi chuckled, "In a couple of weeks, little one. I need to be fully healed before momma can take you on Riti again."

Jake smiled before standing straight, "C'mon, kids, mama needs some rest, and so do you."

All of them shook their heads instantly.

Their cries of detest could be heard before Jake tried to haul them from this section of their pod.

And when they finally followed, Denahi took that as a chance to feed Malhua.

Jake placed all of them onto their mats.

Lo'ak trying to escape and run back to Denahi a couple of times— Jake always catching him.

Lo'ak slung his arms over his chest, pushing his bottom lip out, "You will see her tomorrow, Lo'ak."

Tuk was flat out, half her head on her own mat whilst her other half dangled on Neteyam's.

Kiri had a little hammock she liked to sleep on.

Jake and Denahi having their own little mat in a separate area from them all.

"Na night," Neteyam murmured with his eyes half way open.

Jake chuckled.

He looked at all of his children, admiring that this is how his life came to be.

And, he couldn't ask for anything better.
