His movement had intentions to grab Denahi's full attention. But, he was trying to hard to impress rather than learn. And he said she was the eager one? "Go slow. It will be easier for you to understand," Denahi ordered. She walked towards the Direhorse and stroked their rough flesh, "Mawey."
Denahi climbed atop the calmed Direhorse, Jake watched as the animal was soothe after a single touch of hers. He closely inspected the way Denahi grabbed her queue and brought it over her shoulder. "This is tsaheylu. It is a bond made with an animal to give you control," Denahi explained, begging her words were not dumb to his brain.
Jake watched the pink tendrils at the end of her queue link together with the Direhorses. The animal moved suddenly from the connection, "You have to feel her. Feel her everything. Her breathing. Then you tell her what to do, where to go."
Without warning, the Direhorse charged forwards. Jake watched as Denahi took the animal around a circle before bringing them back to his stance on the ground.
"Do you understand?" She quizzed, wanting to know he understood all of her words. Jake hummed and nodded his head, "Yeah. Yeah." Did he get it? Or did his vision kept on Denahi? He cursed himself, knowing he couldn't focus on anything but her.
Her toned legs draped over the animal. How perfect her every move was with the Direhorse. Absolutely nothing compared to what he was about to do. He climbed atop the Direhorse and tapped her to calm down.
Denahi nodded at his actions, encouraging him to keep the good behaviour up. "Good. Good. Now, feel her. Her heartbeat. Her breathing. How strong her legs are," Denahi told Jake after he created the bond. Her palm pressed onto his thigh, making sure he was listening to her. But, that touch did that exact opposite because it distracted him.
"Yeah— forward!" Jake ordered the Direhorse. The animal moved too fast for him to grasp causing him to fall off and into a wet patch of mud on the ground.
"Oh Eywa..." Denahi sighed before running towards Jake and crouching down besides him body on the ground. He smiled up at her, trying to remove the dirt from out of his mouth. "Are you okay?" She asked him, checking his flesh for injuries.
Her fingertips pressed against each limb, checking his face to make sure he didn't wince in pain. But, how could he show pain when she was the one touching him? What was she doing to him? Distracting him. Yearning to look at her the moment he returned back to his Avatar. But, Denahi soon moved away from Jake when she heard the sudden sound of footsteps.
"He does not belong here!" Mukata shouted off the back of Tsu'tey's horse. "You should go away!" Tsu'tey followed on in English. Denahi hissed at the two of them. Must they be everywhere she is?
"No... You'd miss me..." Jake responded to the two of them. "I knew you could speak English," Jake told Tsu'tey, not too sure on Mukata as he hadn't heard him speak English. Denahi tried to cover the smile that formed across her lips, adoring the fact Jake wasn't too afraid to speak his mind.
"This alien will learn nothing. A rock can see more. Look at him!" Tsu'tey told Denahi, referring to the fact Jake stood and tried to clean the mud off of his flesh. Denahi shook her head at him, "You should have more respect, Tsu'tey. He is learning."
And that was his exact problem. A demon learning the way of his people. Mukata tutted at his sisters words, "You should do better, sister." Denahi frowned at her brother. How could he not see all she had sacrificed for him? All she had been doing is being better. Being better for him. "Go home, Kata. You should not be with this kurkung," Denahi warned her brother. But, Mukata ignored him and continued his journey with Tsu'tey.
"All siblings are the same..." Jake chuckled. Mukata and Denahi's relationship reminded him of his own brother— his twin. How they used to bicker most of the time.
"They are insufferable," Denahi responded. She grabbed a cloth from her loincloth, one she always brought around with her. She pulled Jake's hand into hers and began to clean the brown mud from his hand, "Do you have siblings?"
Jake nodded his head, his ears falling flat, "One. Tommy. He isn't... here anymore." All of this because his brother was robbed. Killed over some paper within his pocket.
Denahi looked into his eyes, realising something she didn't know before. The one thing they had in common. They had both lost someone dear in their hearts.
