Mukata looked down at Jake's unconscious form before deciding on kicking his waist. "Stop that!" Denahi shouted Mukata out of the way, Mukata chuckled at the instant protection Jake had. "It isn't like he is going to wake up," Mukata responded, making it seem like kicking him was okay because Jake wasn't in his Avatar body yet. Denahi scowled him, "But he will wake with a bruise, brother."
Mukata sighed. His sister had a strange protection over this demon. And Mukata did not understand why. Hell, Denahi didn't understand why she did either.
But, Denahi had never hated Avatar's. Humans that carry guns and threatened her home, yes. But Avatar's like his. Or, Avatar's like Graces, they didn't threaten her. Denahi had a unique fascination with them.
"What are you planning on doing today?" Mukata queried. What so he could ruin it like he had managed to do yesterday? But, no, it on pure curiosity. "Do you want to join us?" Denahi asked him as she continued to knit some clothes together. He paused for a second and Denahi was sure he was about to agree her offer. But then his face dropped when something flashed within his mind and his head shook no in response.
"It is okay. You do not have to..." Denahi mentioned. She knew what flashed in his mind. The same thing that came to his mind whenever Mukata thought about humans.
"I am going with Tsu'tey..." Him and that man. Mukata and Tsu'tey. It was unusual. Mostly because Tsu'tey despised when Mukata broke something, but it was friendship that never seemed to end. Denahi knew he would warm up to Jake. Just depending on how long that is going to take.
"Morning," Jake's voice could be heard. Rough and deep. A somewhat soothing noise though gravelly and harsh. "Where is everyone?" Jake quizzed when he stood up and looked around Hometree.
"I told you. Na'vi life starts early. They are out hunting or finding resources," Denani explained as she stood to her feet.
All morning she had sat with Jake's unconscious state, weaving clothes and figuring out what to do with the junk of wood in front of her for arrows. "So. What am I learning today?" Jake asked.
Denahi thought for a moment. She had been too busy dealing with herself in the morning, she forgot she had to train him also. "Our language," It was a simple task that didn't require a lot of physical movement because after yesterday, Jake could use a rest.
Besides, he had no idea on Na'vi language. Jake had no clue on how to pronounce them, what the words mean. He couldn't even form a sentence without butchering it.
Jake groaned at Denahi's response. Languages have always been a struggle point with him. He struggled in school with languages, never mind one he truly hadn't ever heard before. "My people talk about you. Would it not be easier for you to understand what they are saying?" Denani said with a tempting tone to her voice.
Jake's expression dropped straight, "Everything bad?" Mostly. Not everything said about him was terrible, but he still had a lot of trust to gain from them all.
"Come and I will teach..." Denahi told him before guiding him to a secret place just a few feet away from Hometree base.
It was small. A little cove within the mountain side. But it was secure and empty. Denahi didn't visit here often, mostly because she liked being surrounded by her People. But, it was a perfect place to teach Jake. It gave them the privacy they both seek.
The cove was covered in purple bioluminescent veins in the darkness. "Sit," Denahi ordered, both of them sitting on the damp, cold stone ground, "First I will teach our face."
Denahi tapped his knee to make him focus on her because he was too struck on the cove. She then smiled and pointed to her ears, "These are mikyun." Jake's eyebrows pinched together at the pronunciation, "Mikyun."
Denahi's smile gotten bright as she clapped her palms together, "That is right!" Jake repeated the word multiple times. "Ontu," Denahi tapped her nose to teach him the word. "Ontu," He repeated once again. Jake could tell from the expression on her face he had gotten it correct again, it was not hard for him to read Denahi.
"Good... Now, nari," Denahi pointed at her amber eyes. Those eyes that had caught Jake's mind at first glance. Beautiful and pure, deer like and large. He swallowed, watching her eyelashes skim the lid on her eye, "Na...hi."
No, no. Denahi shook her head. Fuck. He let her distract him once again. Too many times that had happened now. Too many time he had let that happen to him. "No. Nari," Denahi aggressively rolled her tongue to make the sound more effective for Jake.
"Nari..." He responded with a laugh. Denahi clapped once again, "Nìyo! Perfect."
