The Shifter and The Weasley

Chapter 7

Ron and Harry have both been giving Hermione the silent treatment, both were upset that she had mentioned the firebolt to McGonagall, so it had been confiscated until it had been checked for jinxes and hexes. So, Katherine has been helping her, help Hagrid with Buckbeak's case. However, Ron was also giving Hermione the silent treatment due to Crookshanks apparently attacking scabbers.

"Are you okay 'Mione, you've been very quiet" She just nodded and carried on reading her book. "They are being idiots, don't worry so much about them okay" Katherine reached across the table and gave Hermione's hand a gentle squeeze. She knew what the two younger boys were like and it was infuriating.

"Thank you for keeping me company Kat, I know you have a lot going on with your owls coming up, but I still appreciate you finding time for me" Katherine smiled.

"I will always have time for you Hermione, I promise." They both went back to reading their books. Their peace and quiet however didn't last long as the twins came barging into the library, heading straight for Katherine.

"Kat, my love! We have been looking everywhere for you" George took a seat on her left whilst he spoke as Fred took the seat on her right.

"What can I help you two gentlemen with?" They glanced at each other and then looked down at Kat, George grabbed her hand and held it to his chest.

"You know because we are your favourite people" George looked at Fred as Katherine gave him a flat look. Fred then grabbed her other hand and held it to his chest.

"Will you please help us with our potions homework, we have to explain an Amortentia potion, its properties and its affects." Fred batted his eyelashes at her. She sighed.

"Fine, lets get it done" They both pulled their homework out of their bags, Hermione however had noticed how George still had hold of Katherines hand. "We need to get this done quickly because I also need to see Dumbledore about tonight" Both boys nodded in understanding.

"What's tonight?" The trio looked up at Hermione and Katherine shook her head.

"I'll explain tomorrow" Hermione nodded. Katherine got into helping the twins with their homework. About half an hour in Hermione reminded them that they needed to head to the feast, thankfully the twins were just finishing up, so they all walked down together. "Mione, why don't you sit with me and the twins, give you a break from Harry and Ron" She glanced at Katherine gratefully.

"As long as its not too much trouble" all three shook their heads.

"What's Ron being a git about now?" Fred wondered.

"He is getting upset because Crookshanks is being a cat and chasing his rat" Katherine huffed.

"What's he upset about that for, he's been looking pathetic for ages anyway" George snorted at the situation. "Don't worry Granger, my brother is just being a git, and as for Harry, well he's always a bit of a git" Katherine and Fred both barked out a laugh as they entered the great hall.

The Slytherin vs Ravenclaw game ended with Slytherin winning, so as long as Gryffindor win against Ravenclaw they are still in with a chance of winning. Because of this Oliver is getting more uptight about training, so here is Katherine, sitting on the stands, it the middle of January freezing cold. You may ask why she is there, and its because Her, Fred and George have plans after training has finished. However, they have been out here that long Katherine has finished all her homework and now she's trying to keep her hands warm. Whilst waiting for the twins to finish their practice she let her mind wander.

Her shifts have been going fine, Dumbledore is still more than happy for her to continue, and she has officially given her statement to the Ministry about her parents. Preparations have been made for her to stay in the custody of Minnie until she is of legal age. However, the only thing that has been bothering her is the fact the twins have been begging for her to let them join her on her next shift. She frustrated because they don't seem to understand the severity of the situation, so that's what their plans are, she's going to take them to see Dumbledore, to see if he can get through to the pranksters.
