Katherine was sat in her room writing in her diary, well currently she was staring into space thinking about everything that had happened in the Ministry. She smiled fondly at the memory of her dad grounding her when he found out that she was going to take the killing curse. It wasn't that he was angry at her decision to protect Harry, it was the fact he could have lost her, and it was something he didn't even want to think about as well as Sirius. Smiling down at her diary she looked up as her bedroom door opened.

"How are you doing little one?" Sirius asked leaning against the door frame.

"I'm alright uncle Siri, how are you doing?" Katherine asked with a small smile.

"I'm doing fine, I am still a little mad at you. I appreciate you jumping in front of Harry and dragging us out of the way of my lovely cousins curse but both times were far too close for me. You should never have been in the firing line in the first place, let alone twice" Sirius said moving to sit on Katherines bed, noticing her about to speak he held his hand up, "it isn't that we don't appreciate it Kat, but the thought of me and Moony loosing you is too painful. For the past couple of years you have held us both together, Moony especially but I never want to go through the pain of loosing you" Sirius said gently causing Katherine to sigh and move over to her bed. Sitting next to her uncle she gently grasped his hand in hers.

"I know Uncle Siri and trust me in those moments that I thought I was going to die you, dad and George were the only people I thought of, because you three have given me so much and I wouldn't be able to breathe if I lost any of you. Dad gave me the unconditional love of a father, you the unconditional love of an uncle, including letting me do the things we know dad wouldn't approve of and George is the literal love of my life, but in that moment as I said my silent goodbyes to you, I knew that Harry living would mean so much more. The fate of the wizarding world depends on him and if I was to choose myself over him it meant I would put my own life before the lives of the innocent and besides the fact it would kill you if anything happened to Harry" Katherine spoke gently. She understood where everyone was coming from, but only Dumbledore saw it from her perspective.

"Well when you put it like that I understand why you did it, I just wish the action wasn't even necessary" Sirius replied softly gently squeezing Katherines hand and giving her a small smile.

"I know Uncle Siri but these are the times we are living in unfortunately. I wish it was different because if it was then you wouldn't have lost James and Lily and Marlene and Peter wouldn't have betrayed you and dad. We have to make the best of what we have. I promise you I wont do it again if that helps?" Katherine said with a small laugh at the end and wiped away the tear that had fallen down her cheek.

"I know, I wish I could speak to them again. Your still grounded by the way" Sirius said causing both of them to laugh.

"Come on, we've spent too long being sad, lets go make some cake" Katherine said as she ran out the room, Sirius following behind her. Both of them however had failed to see the couple stood in the corner of the room.

"It's nice to see Padfoot and Moony with so much life in them" James muttered softly, Lily glanced up and gently took his hand.

"I know love, that wonderful girl has done the impossible. I'm glad that she was there for Harry, even after how horrible he was" Lily replied softly.

Katherine and Sirius were in the kitchen singing along to the muggle radio Katherine got her hands on, whilst making their cake, both of them singing and dancing along so much they failed to notice the order members in the kitchen. Lupin took it upon himself to notify the two to save them further embarrassment.
