A very pissed off Bucky Barnes

Not a cliffhanger this time, but definitely a stopping point because it will lead into the next chapter lol

Until next time 💪

Bucky's in a nightmare. He's sure of it. The cabin is fine, you're still sleeping in top of him like you were, and he just needs to wake up.

Wake up.

Wake up.

Wake up!

Water spurts out of his mouth as shivers completely take over Bucky's body, the ground harsh on his head that has him missing the shitty couch he'd been occupying for three days. It's dark, but he can hear your heartbeat and more so see your silhouette on the floor.

"Y/N—" His throat is in pain, and he's sure something is broken, but he tries again when his eyes finally settle on you in the corner. "Y/N, are you awake?" His whole body tingles as blood flows, legs starting to become movable so he can slowly shift towards you.

Bucky feels tears threatening to fall once he gets closer, the blood clearly spread and dried all across your face with the multitude of bruises. His fingers shake while pressing to your neck, feeling the open wounds from what had to be from the taser.

But he lets the sigh of relief go when he feels the gentle pulse against his fingers, sitting back on his knees as he pulls your body into his lap. You're cold, like normal, but alive, your breath fanning his wrist as he pushes hair back, finding it comforting than his fingers over your scalp.

There's nothing more that Bucky wants than for you to be awake right now, to tell him you're actually alright and not just the cold, paleness of your skin to guess your well-being. He has to look over the blood to really make sure the gash isn't direct on a spot that was delicate, but a head injury isn't a thing he messes with, especially now that you've recovered from a concussion.

A groan from you has him tensing, hands settling you down as you push up. "Hey, easy, Doll," he cooes, trying hard to help you despite you trying. "Baby, open your eyes for me. Come on, you got it." Gently, he swipes his thumb across your cheek, taking in your peaceful features for the last time before your face scrunches up in pain. "Shh, take it easy, Y/N."

It happens too quickly for him to stop you. You're off him in seconds, whimpering to the wall as you curl into a ball. It's like he electrocuted you, and his heart breaks into its final pieces when he sees the fear in your eyes. All he can see is the day he found you in that God awful room covered in blood that wasn't yours.

He can still remember the emptiness in your eyes, but it's different this time. You're watching him, shaking. Bucky finally realized that you're completely soaked, frost bite taking over your fingers as you push your legs together. Though he can see the blood dripping down from your thigh, sighing once he sees a large piece of debris ledged in your skin.

"Baby," he whispers, completely dismissing the subtle endearment once he sees the calm somewhere in your eyes. He reaches for you, making himself smaller because God help these people who made you afraid of him. "Come here, let me help you," he says, hoping to gain your trust despite the clear signs from the past couple days. "C'mon, sweetie, you know me. Snoopy, Barnes, Bucky, man. Doll, you're safe with me, just—please."

Nothing hurts more than seeing the distance in your gaze, almost as if you left your soul without a personality. No look could ever find you, and it hurts him the most when you hesitate to reach for him, gently clasping your hand in his before you're throwing yourself at him.
