Hope Blakely, Best Friend and Sister. She hadn't had much going on in her life as she and her twin brother, Hayden, were orphans. Their parents died in a car crash causing their best friend's mom, Jocelyn Fray, to take them in and raise them as her own. Hope, Hayden, and Simon were waiting for Clary to come back with the news of whether or not she got into the program. After a few minutes, the redhead came in looking a bit sad making them believe she was turned down.

"Give me the professors' names and I will end them, you know, with a scathing e-mail to the dean," Simon covered earning a chuckle

"Don't bother," Clary responded before Hayden scoffed

"What? Sad face? Really? Well played, well played," Hayden remarked to his best friend

"Thank you. You know, it's weird, they kind of liked my assigned work, but they flipped out the drawings for our graphic novel," Clary explained before Simon nodded

"You're welcome," Simon charmed the girl

"This day will go down in history as the greatest 18th birthday I ever had," Clary added before Hope winched

"Do not jinx it," Hope warned her best friend

"Which is why we are celebrating tonight with Maureen, after our show," Simon added ignoring the blonde

"Absolutely, what's the deal with you and Maureen?" Clary questioned with a smirk

"What deal? No deal, we sing together," Simon shut it down fastly

"You seriously don't know she's been crushing on you this whole time?" Hope questioned the boy beside her

"What? No. No," Simon stuttered out a response

"Simon, how can someone as smart and perceptive as you not realize that the person sitting right there is in love with you?" Hayden questioned the boy who scoffed

"I guarantee you I'm not the only smart, perceptive person to make that mistake," Simon stated before Clary looked confused

"That's a latte," Hope pointed out to the redhead

"But I could have sworn I had a biscotti," Clary mumbled to the group

"Maybe you ate it really fast and didn't even notice. Happens to me all the time. When I'm happy or when I'm sad but I will replace your mythical biscotti with an actual one," Simon joked causing some chuckle

"You know what? Here's to you. L'chaim," Hope cheered holding out her drink

"L'chaim," Clary added clinging their glasses

They talked some more before the twins headed home with Clary as her mother wanted to talk to her, they went on up as Clary talked to Dot some more about her store and everything. Hope and Hayden shared a room, per their request. After their parents died they felt alone and they promised each other to never let each other feel that way again, Simon and Clary didn't understand it but they respected it.

"What are you doing? Get up and get an outfit ready," Hope directed as he laid on his bed

"Do you really feel like going out tonight?" Hayden asked his sister who hummed

"It's her eightieth birthday, we're going," Hope responded as she looked at him through her mirror

"And tomorrow is ours and I kinda want to just sleep," Hayden spoke before she rolled her eyes

"You can sleep when we get back, the night is young and all that," Hope joked with a wink

"Hope, it's our eighteenth birthday tomorrow, Luke promised us when we turned eighteen that he'd let us see the crash report," Hayden reminded as she drew in a breath

"We were kids when we wanted to see that," Hope added before he nodded

"And that 'want' hasn't changed," Hayden added before she rolled her eyes

"I'm going to go get changed then head downstairs, I expect you to be getting ready aswell," Hope directed before leaving the room

They got dressed and then headed out, they sat down and waited for Simon, and Maureen was done singing. Hope was looking up at the stars as they talked among themselves, she couldn't help but think back about what Hayden had said in their room. they went home soon after they played to take a nap when Simon started ranting about how the house was a mess and that Clary was gone making them pull up to find my phone, which led them to a church. Clary came out a few moments after they had called only to start gasping as they were trying to talk to her.

"Jace! Is he dead?" Clary asked making them all share a look

"Is who dead?" Hayden questioned looking around

"Could you deglamourize, or whatever, so my best friends don't think I'm losing my mind?" Clary asked before a man showed up

"Um, what is happening?" Hope asked looking at the blonde

"Yeah, we don't have the luxury right now, kid, everyone back inside," Jace responded before Simon scoffed

"Clary, who is this? Your meth dealer?" Simon asked pointing to him

"I've seen him before, at the police station," Clary stated ignoring her best friend

"He's a member of the Circle. Clary, he's here for you," Jace explained to her

"He's with the people who took my mother," Clary added as she caught on

Right, your little best friends here led him right to you, he's here to capture or kill you," Jace added making Simon scoff

"There's a dead body there, we have to call Luke," Simon spoke grabbing his phone

"We can't trust Luke, Simon, we can't," Clary stated grabbing his phone

"Clary, I need to keep you safe. I promise you, I promise I am gonna help you find your mother but you're one of us. You're a Shadowhunter," Jace stated to the girl

"What are you talking about?" Simon questioned as he was confused

"Clary, you don't know this guy, all right? Come with us and we can get help," Hayden urged looking between her and the blonde man

"Clary, please," Hope pleaded grabbing her best friend's hand

Hope looked at her best friend with pleading eyes as Jace held his hand out for the girl to grab and take her inside. Hayden nodded his head for Clary to grab her best friend's hand but the redhead was frozen as she didn't know what to do.
