Hope was back at the institute helping with some things while Alec and Izzy talked it their mother, she was trying to avoid any and all interactions with Maryse since she knew that his mom did not like her. She felt someone looking at her as she cleaned up her workstation, she turned a little to see Alec standing there leaning against the door with his arms crossed.

"My mother's back," Alec stated making her look at him

"Which means I'll make myself unknown," Hope stated with a sigh

"No, I have something else in mind, how would you feel about throwing a party?" Alec asked as he pulled her closer

"Have you met me?" Hope questioned with a smile

"It is for Max's Rune Ceremony," Alec added in return

"I think I'll pass," Hope commented to the boy

"Hope..." Alec whispered before she shook her head

"I'm sure I'll love Max but Maryse? That woman hates me," Hope reminded the shadowhunter

"That's sort of the point of the party so that she can see that this, us, it's not going away," Alec reminded making her sigh

"Are you sure about this?" Hope asked looking at him with concern

"Why wouldn't I be?" Alec questioned his girlfriend in return

"Then I better get to work," Hope stated making him nod

"Everything will be okay," Alec spoke in a whisper

"Is doing it at Magnus' okay because I doubt we could fit that many people back at the house," Hope ranted making him chuckle

"Wherever you wanna do it is okay," Alec added making her sigh

Hope had nodded then kissed his cheek before going and clearing in with Magnus, who agreed as soon as she suggested it. She wanted everything to be perfect and if not perfect then decent as she wanted to take this as a chance to clear her name with the woman and create a small bond so it's not as awkward every time she comes around.

"Welcome, Maryse," Magnus greeted once they had walked over

"Max, this is your night," Hope added looking at the little boy

"You do have an exotic taste, don't you?" Maryse asked them in return

"Oh, the Spanish theme is in honor of you and your husband," Hope explained looking at the woman

"Really? How so?" Maryse questioned the blonde

"Alec told me that Robert proposed to you in Barcelona and I wanted to celebrate a joyous memory since he couldn't be here," Hope explained some more

"How sweet that Alec feels comfortable sharing our personal family stories with you, especially considering your disparate backgrounds," Maryse remarked making Magnus step up

"How about a drink? Sangria for the lady, a Roy Rogers for the guest of honor," Magnus spoke before leading them away

"I told you, she hates me," Hope mumbled to her boyfriend

"Progress makes perfect," Alec told her making her nod

"Tell me when we start making said progress," Hope remarked before going to get a drink

Hope was standing with Hayden talking when she saw Alec standing on the balcony getting some air before her smile but it dropped when she saw him climb the ledge making her panic and run over to get him down. Alec was rambling on about how she, Clary, and Hayden should hate him for what he did Jocelyn.

"Alec, what are you doing? You're scaring me," Hope pleaded looking at him

"I know you wish I was dead instead of Jocelyn," Alec stated making her shake her head

I don't wish you were dead so don't worry and take my hand, Alec! Oh, my God," Hope exclaimed out as he fell

"What happened?" Izzy asked as they walked past Magnus

"All of a sudden, he started talking about how I hated him for killing our mom," Hope explained to the warlock

"Alec?" Maryse asked rushing out

"It's okay, I sedated him when I pulled him from the ledge," Magnus spoke as they all walked toward the sleeping Shadowhunter

"You know what, you stay away from him, you can't be trusted," Jace scolded his adoptive mother

"I can't be trusted? Now you see why I was wary of having a party at a warlock's house," Maryse remarked looking at Hope

"Wow, what's going on here?" Simon asked as he came out

"Oh, what do you care? Maia is at the bar," Clary scolded the vampire

Yes, and Alec's on the ground is he gonna be okay?" Simon asked in a concerned voice

"You're all gonna be okay, everyone just stay here. I'll be right back," Magnus stated before walking away

"What did you say to my son? You don't think that Alec feels guilty enough and you bring him up here," Maryse accused the blonde

"I did not bring him up here, I followed him," Hope stated to the woman

Hope reached down after Alec woke up, Magnus' spell book was taken making them all go looking for a red cat that they had learned who it was. Once everything was settled and Max's ceremony was over with, Hope was waiting for Alec in his room to talk to him. Alec nodded before she was done explainign that she never once held Jocelyn against him they had decided to have a small movie night.
