𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘆-𝗢𝗻𝗲, 𝗧𝗵𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱

Hope went with Hayden to call Luke out for kicking Simon out since they didn't think that it was fair that Simon was now trying to find a place to stay. Hope offered him to stay at her house but he didn't want to take the risk of snapping one day and hurting her.

"Kicking Simon out? That was your Alpha move?" Hope asked as she crossed her arms

"Not now," Luke stated to the kids

"Yes now," Maia stated to the alpha

"Do you think I like this any more than you do? Believe me, this was not an easy decision," Luke defended his actions

"Simon didn't do anything wrong," Hayden added in support

"It's not about right or wrong, it's about protecting the pack and Simon almost killed Glenn," Luke explained some more

"And did you hear about Raphael? They both tried to attack him," Hope stated to her father figure

"Clearly, Simon's new power, whatever it is, only kicks in when someone tries to hurt him," Maia added as well

"Do we know that and even if we did, how am I supposed to keep the pack from doing something stupid and getting themselves blown to pieces?" Luke asked the three

"You tell them to stop acting like prejudiced dick's, it's none of their business if I want to date a vampire, you tell them to leave Simon alone," Maia directed the older man

"And have you got some magic fairy dust that I can sprinkle around and make that happen? We're talking about vampires and werewolves, thousands of years of hate. It's not pretty, but that's just the way it is," Luke stated to the werewolf

"I can't believe those words just came out of your mouth, are you seriously telling me there's no use in trying to change bigoted behavior?" Hayden asked the man

"I'm all for change, but the kind of change you're talking about takes time and open minds and right now, I'm short on both," Luke stated as he turned back around

"So you're abandoning Simon?" Hope asked making him scoff

"I don't abandon people I care about, you know that better than anyone," Luke scolded the blonde

"Not anymore but hey, you're the Alpha, do what you think is best," Maia stated before letting him leave

Hope shared a look with Hayden before heading to do what she needed to do aswell, she believed that Luke would come to his senses soon and she hoped that thier discussion had pushed that to be sooner rather than later. Hope had made Alec dinner as they always had dinner together since she was no longer allowed to stay at the institute for longer than a day by the new rules.

"You haven't had anything to eat or drink all day, do I need to force-feed you?" Hope joked with the shadowhunter

"No, Jace, he's my parabatai, so I should be able to help him but this, I just don't know how," Alec admitted to the blonde

"I know you're scared but we don't know for sure if Jace is going down the same road as Celine so don't lose hope," Hope comforted her boyfriend

"Thank you," Alec spoke before sitting down

"What's all this?" Hope questioned looking down at the files

"I need to stop these mundane murders but we have no idea who or what the Owl is and we hit a dead end on testing on Morgan, digging for clues," Alec rambled in return

"Not to be an overeager mundane girlfriend, but need a hand?" Hope asked as she tilted her head

"You help me all the time and if I came to you every time I had a problem," Alec spoke off in thought

"We'll spend more time together, the torture after I get some food in you, I'll have Magnus come to the Institute and examine Morgan, we'll make it through this, one step at a time," Hope whispered to him

"Yeah, I know, thank you," Alec spoke before she kissed him

"I was thinking of some soup," Hope asked as she walked off

"Whatever is good for you," Alec spoke as he followed

"Soup it is," Hope greeted before going to her fridge

Hope had started to make dinner for them, Alec went on to work a little bit as he watched her cook. Simon had texted her earlier to tell her that he had found a place to live which her feel so much better about the situation but she was still upset with Luke for even not giving it a second thought.
