Hope was with Simon, Hayden, and Clary as they sat in quarters trying to come to terms with what had happened, Luke needed to take some time to rethink things. Hope sat beside Hayden as Simon was practicing his Latin.

"I just wish I could get ahold of Luke, whenever he goes out of town, he always tells me, I'm worried," Clary admitted in a soft tone

"Clary, your mom meant everything to him and he probably just needs time to process," Hope suggested to her best friend

"When you died, we were wrecked and devastated," Clary used as an example

"You were?" Simon asked with a soft smile

"Of course, buddy," Hayden added patting Simon's shoulder

"Simon, we couldn't think of life without you but we got you back," Hope added in support

"Simon, you were dead but then you came back, what if we could get my mom back? Okay, but in this insane world, we suddenly live in, things that I never thought could happen do happen, so maybe there is a way," Clary rambled on before Simon shook his head

"Clary, I know how much you loved her but sometimes there are things you just have to accept," Simon explained to her

"No, I am not ready to accept this," Clary scolded before running off

"Just give her time," Hope spoke before leaving

Hope went with Clary and Alec to see this so-called witch who could bring Jocelyn back, they knocked on the door before it opened

"I was indeed expecting you. I only wondered when and I see you brought a guest, your boyfriend and friend?" Iris questioned the girl

"No," Alec deadpanned before she nodded

"She's my sister so she wants to be a part of it," Clary added looking at Hope

"Well, whatever you are, leave your weapon outside, any warlock worth a damn can see through Shadowhunter glamour with ease," Oh, don't worry, it'll be safe in the alcove, sorry, did you bring your mother's..." Iris spoke as they walked in

"Uh, her hair. Yes," Clary added showing

"Perfect, Nurse Leigh will help you with the paperwork," Iris explained in return

"Uh, paperwork?" Hope questioned the woman

"Yeah, just a simple pinprick to draw blood for the oath for the favor we talked about," Iris

"Well, I don't know about any favor," Alec stated as they paused

"Oh, that was the deal we made," Iris explained to Alec

"It's fine, Alec. I wanna do this," Clary reassured with a nod

"Delightful now follow me, your friend can wait for you in the waiting room," Iris added looking at the girls

"No, I'm not leaving thier side," Alec scolded the woman

"Oh, then I can't do this, his energy is too turbulent, I need calm and he is not calm," Iris responded to the girls

"Okay, I'm gonna need to see some credentials and show me your warlock mark," Alec remarked in defense

"Dear, if a lady has concealed her mark, assume it's for good reason," Iris scolded the shadowhunter

"Alec, it's okay, we'll be fine," Hope added before following

"Place your mother's lock of hair on the table, please. Now, I need you to focus as intensely as you can on a cherished memory of your mother. Can you do that? That will help repel any demons that dare come near her soul, good girls now, let the process begin," Iris directed before they closed thier eyes

"Oh, my God, that bird!" Hope exclaimed as the crow kept pecking

"Focus on your mother, girls," Iris reminded as she watched

"No, stop!" Clary shouted in return

"Just because one bird came back badly doesn't mean..." Iris trailled off in thought

"Well, I'm not willing to take the chance, I'm sorry we wasted your time," Clary spoke as they stood up

"You didn't waste my time, you still owe me a favor," Iris claimed before Hope shook her head

"The deal's off," Hope stated with a scoff

"No, it's not. You two took a blood oath," Iris scolded looking between the girls

"Fine, call us when you need me," Clary stated starting to walk out

"I need you now, you are going to host one of my finest creations," Iris admitted with a smirk

"Host? What are you talking about?" Hope questioned looking at the woman

"I'm talking about having a baby, girls, a baby warlock," Iris explained some more

"Let us out!" Clary shouted while banging on the door

"Warlocks are a dying breed, and I need young women like you, healthy and fertile, that my private demon can impregnate. Oh, I wish there was another way to do it. I do but now, with Valentine threatening to wipe us all out, we need to build our numbers," Iris seethed as she came closer

"I'm a Shadowhunter. A demon can't get me..." Clary trailed off before Iris scoffed

"Pregnant? I think I finally discovered an elixir that makes it possible," Iris added before Hope looked at thier cups

"You spiked the tea," Hope realized earning a nod

"Imagine a baby warlock, part demon, part Shadowhunter. Now, that would be something, harder to drive into extinction. The good news is, after the baby's born, I'll do a memory wipe, and you'll be back home, none the wiser," Iris stated before turning around

"Alec! Anyone? Alec!" Hope shouted as she banged on the door

Alec and the others had gotten the girls out of there, Hope was sitting out on the balcony after Jocylyn's memorial, she looked up at the stars as she felt it comforting. She heard the door open and shut before turning to see Alec walking up to her making her smile.

"How are you holding up?" Alec asked making her sigh

"I'm okay but I'm more worried about Clary than anything," Hope admitted making him nod

"I'm so sorry," Alec spoke making her shake her head

"What are you talking about?" Hope asked looking a thim

"They didn't tell you who did it?" Alec questioned with a sigh

"Didn't seem important at the time," Hope explained while he looked at the ground

"Hope, I did it," Alec admitted making her look at him again

"What?" Hope asked with a voice crack

"It was like thirty seconds and I didn't even remember it until Clary and I watched the video back, I didn't know," Alec ranted trying to grab her hands

"I can't right now," Hope whispered with tears before walking away

Alec watched her run off while holding her mouth so sobs didn't escape, he looked back at the city lights before closing his eyes and shaking his head with a deep breath. Hope didn't blame him since it wasn't fully his fault but she couldn't handle any more bad news.
