𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 | 𝗔. 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱

𝗙𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘆, 𝗔 𝗞𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲

Hope was cooking breakfast for her and Alec since it had been a while since they actually sat down and ate a meal together with how busy he's been. She was humming and rubbing her stomach as she was cooking the pancakes, she found it a habit to rub her growing belly out of comfort.

"Good morning," Alec greeted as he came into the room

"Hi, morning," Hope greeted as she moved back

"What's wrong? Is it bed head or is it morning breath?" Alec asked making her chuckle

"None of that, I just don't want to burn the pancakes," Hope explained with a soft smile

"It has been a while since we ate together," Alec added causing her to nod

"It's peaceful right now," Hope spoke looking at him

"Is your back hurting today?" Alec asked making her sigh

"Not as bad as last night but there is still time for them to prove me wrong," Hope admitted with a chuckle

"Don't jinx it," Alec remarked earning an eye roll

"I love you," Hope whispered before kissing him

"I love you, Sunshine," Alec mumbled in between kisses

"So, I was thinking of some names even though it is still very early," Hope explained, wrapping her arms around his neck

"I have been thinking of some too but let's see what you have first," Alec spoke making her nod

Alec kissed her forehead before getting ready to head to the institute, Hope went to meet up with Luke and Simon as Simon had called her with some concerns about Jordan and the other wolves. Hayden wasn't answering his phone which was making Hope worried so she had hoped that he was with Luke or Jordan.

‭"Hey! Have you seen Jordan? He went out on the hunt for Heidi and I haven't heard from him since," Simon questioned the werewolf

"That was the Praetor, apparently, Jordan lost his cool on a raid at the Hotel DuMort and went AWOL and no one's seen him since," Luke informed once he got off the phone

"We have to keep looking, is there something the police can do?" Hope asked her father

"Um, I don't have too many friends on the force right now. They've had eyes on me ever since Ollie's mom was killed, I can't go anywhere without an escort and I bet my phone's tapped," Luke explained to the kids

"I don't know about your phone but I have an idea how to deal with those cops," Simon stated with a small smirk

"Okay, wonder boy, don't leave us on read," Hope remarked to the vampire

"Let's start with the restaurant then go from there," Simon suggested before they all nodded

Hope rode with Luke before they got to the Jade Wolf, they took notice of how quiet it was before they headed inside where they saw all the dead bodies, Hope burrowed her head in Simon's shoulder as she couldn't stand the sight of all the dead wolves.

"It's a massacre," Luke spoke as they walked in

"Maia? Maia?" Simon asked as he heard the girl

"Simon," Maia mumbled to her ex-boyfriend

"Is he..." Hope asked looking at Jordan

"Alive but barely," Maia responded to her

"We have to get him up," Simon started looking up at the others

"Hayden," Hope whispered as she saw her brother's dead body

"Who did this?" Simon asked once again

"We're pretty sure Heidi's behind the attack. She sent a bunch of vamps with silver blades, we have to get him to the Praetor, they're the only ones who can save him," Maia responded as she was in pain

"Luke, are you coming?" Simon asked looking at the man

"I have to finish the rites, get him outta here, I'll take care of the cops," Luke told the three

"We have to contact the Institute," Hope added to her father

"Simon, I said I'll handle it, get him to the Praetor now," Luke stated to his kids

"Okay, get the door," Simon nodded his head to the blonde

Hope had felt as if her heart was shattered as she was being pulled out of there and away from her brother. Hope had gone back to the Institute where Clary and others paused at the sight of Hope covered in blood. Hope only managed to Hayden's name out before falling into Clary's arms sobbing.
