Hope was with Magnus and Alec to a party since it had been a while since she hung out with either of them with them being busy with work and everything that going on, Alec was worried that they might single them out since they weren't downworlders. Hope was drinking water since she wasn't of age and because she didn't like to drink that much.

"Well, here we are," Magnus commented as they walked in

"Are you sure bringing us here was a good idea?" Alec questioned the warlock

"Yeah, it's better than coming by myself. I'm joking, they'll love you. Oh, just because you're the only Shadowhunter and Mundane at a party full of warlocks doesn't mean you can't have fun," Magnus explained to his friends

"Yeah, well, that's easy for you to say, you've known these people for centuries," Hope convinced her friend

"And you think that's a good thing? Trust me, I don't want to be here any longer than I have to, but it's tradition for the outgoing High Warlock to pass the baton onto his replacement," Magnus added in return

"Is that him?" Hope asked looking at a man

"The one and only, Lorenzo Rey, the new High Warlock of Brooklyn," Magnus explained before Lorenzo started walking up to them

"Magnus! Magnus Bane! You made it and you brought some friends," Lorenzo greeted as he walked up to them

"Yes, hi. I'm..." Alec started before he was cut off

"Alec Lightwood and Hope Blakely, head of the New York Institute. I expect we'll be seeing quite a bit of each other at your Downworld Cabinet meeting, no hard feelings, right, Bane?" Lorenzo questioned the man

"On the contrary, I'm very content in my new position being the High Warlock is a thankless job. Long hours, little pay, but I'm sure that doesn't matter to someone as young and civic-minded as yourself," Magnus spoke with a smile

"Oh, don't be so jaded. I may only be but I'm no stranger to service, All those years working for the High Warlock in Madrid have prepared me although I may not be as easy on you as he was. After all, I'm here to serve the warlocks, not portal you around like some glorified shuttle service," Lorenzo fired at the shadowhunter

"I wouldn't have it any other way," Alec remarked with a fake smile

"In that case, I look forward to our first Cabinet meeting, enjoy the party," Lorenzo spoke before walking off

"Who appointed him?" Hope questioned looking at the man

"Nobody, there was a vote, and Lorenzo can be very charming as long as you're into phony, no taste, egomaniacal pieces of sh..." Magnus explained as Hope nudged him

"Language," Hope scolded the warlock

"Alec!" Madzie yelled as she ran in

"Madzie! My favorite little sorceress!" Alec cheered as he picked her up

"I can't believe you brought them just to piss Lorenzo off," Catarina commented as she walked up to them

"No, I brought them because they are my friends," Magnus defended his actions

"Well, he's good with kids, I'll give you that, is something wrong with your drink? Mine tastes weak as hell," Catarina spoke before everything shook

"What's going on?" Hope asked as everything calmed down

"I have no idea," Magnus stated to the blonde

Hope shared a look with Alec who was still with Madzie, everyone had agreed that it would be best to leave that way they could control thier powers and not hurt others around them. Hope had gone back to the institute to help Clary get ready for a date with Jace.

"Hey! How's Ollie?" Clary asked as they bumped into Luke

"She's fine, she got a little banged up but she'll be all right, is there a special occasion I don't know about?" Luke asked the girl

"Not really, I'm grabbing dinner with Jace," Clary admitted with a soft smile

"Dinner?" Luke asked in return

"What are you doing here anyway?" Hope asked her father figure

"Uh, I'm just running this case by whoever's on duty," Luke responded with a smile

"I could help! Jace'll understand," Clary stated making Hope look at her sister

"No, you are not canceling," Hope scolded with a scoff

"I got it covered, you go and have fun, Hope, make sure she goes," Luke directed the blonde who nodded before Clary walked off

"She's growing up," Hope commented before falling after

Hope had sent Clary on her date with the rule that she come back before midnight and call her so she could hear the details and how it went. Alec had helped Magnus with something before coming home, they was chilling on the couch when Hope reached up to mess up Alec's hair.

"Can I just say that I loved how you did your hair today," Hope stated to the boy

"Well, I had to look presentable at the dinner," Alec remarked making her roll her eyes

"Hey, is Magnus okay, after everything that had happened?" Hope asked with concern

"Yeah, everything is okay," Alec responded making her nod

"And how did the secret Malec Mission go?" Hope asked with a smirk

"I only told you that out of confidence so don't tell, Magnus I told you," Alec scolded the blonde

"The key is lost," Hope joked making him chuckle

"And how did getting Clary reading for the date go?" Alec asked in return

"It went well but she still hasn't called me about the date and how it went," Hope explained to her boyfriend

"She'll call," Alec told her causing her to nod

"So, I was thinking that we could have a date night, you could make some homemade pizza or something then finish watching Teen Wolf," Hope suggested causing him to nod

"Yeah, that sounds nice after the day I had at the institute," Alec added as they stood up from the couch

Alec helped her up before leading her into the kitchen, she started to to make the pizza as he poured them some wine. She wasn't big on other hard drinks but she enjoyed a glass of wine, every now and then.
