𝗧𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆-𝗘𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗔 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆

Hope was making breakfast as Alec was asleep in the other room, she hadn't been able to sleep last night from her overthinking about exams coming up for her at school. Alec would stay a week at her place then she would stay a week at the institute with him, She had moved out on her own so she could focus on school more without having to be bothered.

"There you are," Alec spoke as he came up beside her

"Good morning," Hope greeted as she kissed his shoulder

"I'd say the same but looks like you haven't slept," Alec commented making her scoff

"Should I be insulted by that?" Hope questioned in a sarcastic voice

"No, I love that face but this is like the fourth morning in a row that I've woken up to an empty bed, is there something bothering you?" Alec asked making her sigh

"Nothing is bothering me, I've even gotten used to your adorable little snores," Hope joked with a soft laugh

"Hey, I don't snore and I know you well enough to know something's going on," Alec stated making her sigh

"Alec, I'm fine so what about you? Have you decided what you're going to report to the Clave?" Hope questioned as she was changing the subject

"I'm torn, if I don't tell the Clave about Luke's attempt on Valentine's life, I'm in violation and if they find out, I could be de-runed," Alec explained with worry lacing his voice

"Whatever you decide, I'll stand by you," Hope stated, grabbing his hand

"Are you sure you're okay?" Alec asked in a soft tone

"I'm okay aside from worrying about exams," Hope admitted looking at him

"Well, once you are done with school then you can come to work at the institute as a medic," Alec suggested causing her to smile

"I think that I would love that," Hope whispered before kissing him

"I think I know some people who would love that too," Alec charmed as they pulled away

"Just some people?" Hope questioned with a smirk

"Just kiss me, Sunshine," Alec whispered before kissing her

Alec kissed her making her smile into the kiss before picking her up and putting her on the counter, he tugged off the sweater she was wearing before kissing her again. Hope groaned when she heard his phone going off, he walked into the bedroom to grab his phone before coming back into the room. Hope sighed as he started to gather his things, about three hours later, Clary texted her.

"Vampires aren't as easy to track, but I don't think he's too far away," Clary spoke as they

"Not far away doesn't help us so I need a direction," Luke stated to the shadowhunter

"Turn left and up here," Clary directed as he drove

"So, when we do find him, what happens then? I mean, if for some reason it turns out he really did do this..." Hope trailed off in thought

"He's a Vampire and you can't just arrest him due to that fact," Hayden added in support

"That's why we need to find him before the police do," Luke explained to the kids

"Then what?" Clary asked the alpha

"We're supposed to turn him over to the Clave," Luke stated in a calm voice

"Can't we just keep this quiet? You know, like Alec did for you," Hope questioned her adoptive father

"If it's true that Simon did somehow lose control and make some horrible mistake, we can't just give up on him," Clary convinced to the werewolf

"Look, whatever mess he's gotten himself into, I promise I'm not giving up on Simon," Luke stated before they all sat in quiet

Later on in the day, she was getting ready to make a snack when her front door opened, she glanced up before looking back down at the fruit she was cutting up. She took in the scent of Alec's cologne causing her to smile.

"Hope," Alec spoke as he closed the door

"Hi, I was just about to make myself a snack, want one?" Hope questioned with a smile

"No, we're transporting Valentine to Idris," Alec stated making her look at him

"Even more reason, we can toast for finally getting rid of Valentine," Hope stated before he grabbed her hand

"I love you, and I know something's wrong and whatever it is, I'm here for you," Alec whispered as he watched her

"Thank you but I'm fine," Hope stated making him roll his eyes

"No, you're not, I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna leave until you talk to me," Alec stated making her sigh

"It's just exams, I've wanted to be a nurse and this is my one chance to do so but every single practice test I took, I failed," Hope ranted before he cupped her face

"You are going to ace that text and when you do, I'll be right here to celebrate with you," Alec spoke as she pulled away

"You have too much faith in me," Hope commented with a soft smile

"And you don't have enough," Alec commented making her chuckle

"So do you not want anything to eat or were you just wanting to get right to the point?" Hope questioned the boy

"Well, since you are offering," Alec joked before taking a grape

Hope laughed at his antics before grabbing some grapes for herself, she loved spending time with him and laughing around with him. Alec looked over at her as she was staring, he shook his head before kissing her making her hum in response.
