𝗧𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆, 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻

Hope and Alec had just gotten back from going out to lunch, Alec was ranting about how the chef there was shaming the tuna. Hope found it funny and admirable that he cared about the feelings of dead animals that had no feelings.

"I mean, how would they feel?" Alec questioned as they walked in

"Well, I'm glad you didn't ask in front of the sushi chef," Hope added with a chuckle

"Well, seriously, why do they call it fatty tuna? I mean, that's a little degrading," Alec ranted as she nodded her head

"Hmm, well, I don't think obese tuna sounds any better," Hope commented to the shadowhunter

"You know, as much as I love Tokyo and Prague, a bacon burger from the East Village isn't that bad," Alec explained as she nodded

"The world is your oyster, Aly," Hope spoke making him smile

"I got you something," Alec added making her pause

"Me?" Hope asked taking the box

"Yes, you, open it. It's supposed to bring you luck and protection,"

"Thank you, Alec, you continue to surprise me," Hope joked with a chuckle

"In good ways, I hope," Alec commented with a soft laugh

"Definitely," Hope agreed before his phone rang,

"Damn it, I need to go," Alec scolded looking away from his phone

"Go do your job, Shadowhunter, I'm not going anywhere," Hope joked around watching him

"All right," Alec agreed with her

"Stay safe, think clearly," Hope whispered before he kissed her and left

Hope sighed before walking into the house, she smiled at the little keychain he had gotten her. She grabbed her keys and then put the keychain on there, she loved that Alec was putting in more effort than expected. Hope went to help out with Hayden and the wolves as she hadn't seen Hayden since he moved out into his own place.

"So you met Cleophas?" Luke asked Clary who sighed

"At the Citadel, I'm trying to figure out this new rune ability," Clary spoke before Hayden scoffed

"Wait, hold it. Rune ability?" Hayden asked his adoptive sister

"I was somehow able to create a new rune," Clary admitted in a soft tone

"I didn't even know that was possible," Hope added while crossing her arms

"Neither did I, Luke, it was the most incredible thing, I shot sunlight out of my hand. Jace said not to tell anyone, but Cleophas was your sister, and if Valentine has hurt her or worse," Clary ranted to the group

"Hold it, Clary, listen to me. Cleo may not be the victim here, she could be working with Valentine," Luke warned his adoptive daughter

"Uh, no, she's so dedicated to the Iron Sisters," Clary corrected the man

"When the Circle disbanded, she had to be," Luke added crossing his arms

"She was a member of the Circle? I didn't realize," Clary whispered looking away

"And she worshipped Valentine, followed him around like a little puppy when I finally figured out what Valentine was up to I'd lost my sister for good," Luke explained some more

"We have to get her back, Luke," Clary stated as she stood up

"I don't know, it might be too late," Luke spoke with a solemn look

"No, we've lost so much and family is all we have, she's your sister, Luke, don't you wanna at least try?" Clary asked with a sight

"What you got there?" Hayden asked his sister after he zoned out

"A gift, I can't remember the last time someone bought me one," Hope admitted fiddling with the key chain

"Told you, Clary. I've used all the department's resources, there's no sign of her," Luke stated before a bloody Cleo walked in

"Lucian, help me," Cleo pleaded with her brother

Hope took that as her cue to leave, she had heard all about Cleo as a kid from Luke. Hope didn't like the woman much and Luke knew that fact, she went back to the house to get some studies done since she wanted to learn the most she could to become a doctor.

"Are you okay?" Hope asked when she saw Alec

"I'm okay," Alec whispered before kissing her

"Hey, what's this all about? I mean, I'm not complaining, but..." Hope spoke as she pulled away

"I just thought you know, I thought we could take the next step," Alec admitted in a shy tone

"The sex step," Hope confirmed earning a nod

"Yeah," Alec mumbled making her sigh

"Alec, if we rush into this then we might regret rushing into it in the long run," Hope admitted looking up at him

"What? Why would you think that?" Alec asked in a soft tone

"Sex has always been a big deal to me and nowadays that doesn't mean much to some people," Hope explained to him

"Hope, you have nothing to worry about, I want this," Alec stated making her nod

Hope kissed him before he laid her down on the bed kissing her, Hope felt seen and comfortable as he was kissing down her body. After they were done, Alec kissed her forehead as she started to doze off in his arms. He wanted her to know that he was there and that he wasn't leaving her anytime soon.
