Alec had taken her home so she could sleep comfy rather than on a cold couch in his office, Shortly after, Hope had woken up to an empty bed making her sigh since she was hoping that she would wake up next to Alec like she was hoping she would. She had gone back to the institute to see if they needed help when she was immediately called into the medical station

"I tried using an Iratze rune to wake him, but nothing's working," Izzy stated as they looked at him

"What happened?" Alec asked as he walked inside

"I don't know, I found him like this in my room," Izzy explained to her brother

"We should send him to Idris, and see what they can do," Alec suggested before everyone looked at Hope

"Guys, In his condition, I don't think he will be able to survive the transfer," Hope admitted in a soft tone

"We checked the Institute's security camera footage, whoever attacked him is somehow covering their tracks," Jace spoke as he and Sebastian walked in

"Has he been able to talk?" Sebastian asked the group

"Not yet, he's still unconscious," Hope explained to the group

"I don't understand, who would want to hurt him?" Clary questioned to no one of certain

"I don't know but I'm going to find out," Alec stated with anger

"Hey, look, get Robert and Maryse here and the rest of us, we'll find who did this," Jace told his brother

"Yeah, I'll stay with Max, if he regains consciousness, perhaps he can ID his attacker," Sebastian stated as Hope nodded her head

"I'll keep you guys updated," Hope spoke in a soft tone

"Thank you," Alec whispered to her

"Stay safe, think clearly," Hope whispered to him

Alec walked out in a heave of anger, Hope was worried that he wasn't going to think clearly but she trusted him to not screw up and kill somebody out of anger. She sat next to Izzy, rubbing the girl's hand out of comfort as she knew she was worried sick about her little brother.

"Sorry to interrupt," Sebastian greeted as he walked in

"It's okay," Izzy whispered with tears

"How's the little fighter doing? Is there any progress?" Sebastian asked with concern

"We're still waiting to hear back from Brother Enoch but Max already defied the odds in surviving Jonathan's attack," Hope explained to the man

"If anyone can make it, he can," Izzy stated with hope in her voice

"Look, Izzy, you need to take care of yourself as well, you should take a break," Sebastian stated to the shadowhunter

"Thanks, but I can't leave him," Izzy spoke looking at her brother

"Look, just a few minutes will do you a world of good, I'll watch Max while you're gone," Sebastian convinced some more

"I could use a break, thank you," Izzy agreed as the door opened

"Oh, Max!" Maryse spoke as they walked in

"Mom! Dad!" Izzy greeted as they hugged

"Your father and I spoke with Brother Enoch, he says warlock magic can't heal Max," Maryse explained to the group

"Our only hope is to allow the Silent Brothers to attempt a procedure that they only use in rare emergencies," Robert explained to the group

"Kind of like a rebooting of the brain," Maryse added to her daughter

"Does it involve any risks?" Hope asked the adults

"I'm afraid so, very few Shadowhunters have survived it," Robert admitted with a soft tone

"And you still think we should do it?" Izzy asked her mother and father

"If we don't, Max will never wake up," Maryse spoke in return

"I'll be praying for your son," Sebastian stated before walking out

Hope had given the family some time alone so they could have a moment with thier son who was hurt and fighting for his life. They had caught Sebastian/Johnathan and Max was going to be okay since he woke up and was healing like he was supposed to. Hope was waiting at her apartment to get a full update on Max.

"Hey, so is he going to make a full recovery?" Hope asked as the door opened

"Yeah, he's going to be okay," Alec responded making her smile

"He's strong, like his brother and sister," Hope added making him nod his head

"Heavy as head that wears the crown," Alec joked as he sat down next to her

"What's going on in that head of yours?" Hope asked running her hands thier his hair

"We nearly lost him today and if you weren't there then he would've, you and me, we always seem to find our way back to each other. Hope, I love you," Alec spoke making her scoot closer

"I love you, too," Hope whispered before kissing him

They pulled away after a few minutes before looking back at the show that was playing in the background as they talked. Hope closed her eyes as she laid her head on his shoulder, Alec knew she was falling asleep so he moved her to the bedroom then covered her up before going to sleep himself.
