𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 | 𝗔. 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱

𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘆-𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿, 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱

Luke had given her a ride to the clinic for her appointment, but Alec wasn't answering his phone which confirmed her worries that he wasn't coming. She was brought back to the room as Luke sat in the waiting room for her. She was even more nervous that she was doing this appointment by herself.

"So, you must be Ms. Blakely? You can call me Hannah, I'll be your OB," The nurse spoke as she walked in

"Yeah, I took two tests yesterday and now I'm here to confirm it," Hope explained to the woman

"Is it just you or is the dad with?" Hannah asked the blonde

"Just me, he couldn't get out of work," Hope lied with a fake smile

"That's okay, so your test did come back positive so let's talk about some things and find out how far along you are," Hannah explained as she put on gloves

"My last period was probably the month before last but I didn't think much of it since it wasn't always on time," Hope explained in return

"Okay, so that puts you around thirteen-fourteen weeks," Hannah added causing Hope to nod

"Yeah, figures," Hope mumbled under her breath

"So, we should talk about other options if you want," Hannah spoke making Hope shake her head

"No, that's okay, I don't plan on anything like that," Hope stated with a soft smile

"Okay, with that being said let's do an ultrasound and make sure that the baby is doing okay," Hannah suggested as Hope laid back

"Will I hear the heartbeat or is it too early?" Hope asked with concern

"It is possible around this time but it's still a little early so don't worry if you don't hear it," Hannah explained before she waved the wand on her belly

"That's my baby?" Hope asked in shock

"Yep, everything looks good so I'll see you in four weeks," Hannah spoke as she handed her the photos

Hope cleaned her belly before heading back out to the waiting room where Luke looked up to see her walking out, they headed out to his truck where she showed him the pictures making him smile and hug her. They had gone back to the institute to help out with Jace and Lilth, Hope was keeping a distance from Alec since she didn't know where they stood.

"Last night, Ollie's mother was found in her apartment, stabbed to death," Luke stated as they walked up to the group

"Luke, there is nothing you could've done," Clary spoke in a soft tone

"Wait, Jace was able to reverse Morgan's possession, remember? If we can find Jace, maybe he can save Ollie," Hope suggested while crossing her arms

"No, we tried that so he must be using his anti-tracking rune," Clary deadpanned to her sister

"The Owl wasn't exactly shy before if we were to somehow contain him the next time he makes an appearance, I might be able to relieve him of Lilith's influence," Magnus explained to the group

"How the hell are we gonna contain him?" Luke questioned the warlock

"When I took over as weapon master, I read about a piece of Clave technology that never made it into the field. It was called the Malachi Configuration," Izzy explained in support

"Malachi the traitor?" Alec asked his sister

"He invented a type of cage for Greater Demons, now, it's just sitting in the Alicante Armory," Izzy spoke as Clary nodded her head

"So we go there and we get it," Clary stated while looking at Izzy

"What, do you expect the Clave to just hand it over?" Hope asked the girl

"No, but Imogen might, she's Jace's grandmother, we can trust her," Clary responded in return

"Izzy and I will go with you," Alec informed the girl

"And I will go try and find a cure for Jace," Magnus spoke before leaving

"Before the Owl got a hold of Ollie, she had a location lead. If I can find Lilith, I can find Jace," Luke stated in return

They had broken off into groups to complete what they were going to do, Hope just went back to the restaurant to hang out with Hayden since Alec didn't seem happy to see her. After a long day, Alec had come to her apartment which shocked her when she saw him standing at her door.

"Hi," Hope spoke in a whisper

"Luke said you went to your appointment today," Alec spoke making her nod

"Yeah, I'm thirteen weeks," Hope explained with a soft smile

"So nearly two months," Alec added in response

"Yeah, do you wanna see the pictures?" Hope questioned the shadowhunter

"Sure," Alec agreed as they came in

"Not very big but it's there which shocked me when I first saw it," Hope explained with a soft smile

"That's the baby?" Alec asked looking at the ultrasound

"Yeah, I go back in four weeks for a check-up," Hope added taking the pictures back

"I would like to go with you if that's okay?" Alec asked making her chuckle

"That would be okay, it's your baby too," Hope stated in return

"I know it took me some time to come to terms with it but I'm not disappointed that it happened," Alec admitted looking at her

"You needed time, I understand that since a baby is big news," Hope admitted taking his hands

"I did tell Izzy tho," Alec stated to the blonde

"I told Luke so it seems we both went to people we trust for advice," Hope joked with a chuckle

Alec chuckled along with her before they sat down to talk some more about the baby and how it was going to work. Hope was happy that he was finally coming around to becoming a father before marriage, she understood why he was distant at first because he was raised in a traditional family.
