𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 | 𝗔. 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘆, 𝗔 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Hope was getting lunch with Luke and Hayden as it had been a while since they talked outside of the shadow world politics, Hope had ordered a burger and fries and a banana milkshake to drink whereas the boys stuck to something easy and small with a coffee to drink.

"So, you're doing okay?" Luke asked as he drank his coffee

"My apartment is okay besides Alec comes and stays sometimes so I'm not always alone," Hope explained to the man

"He sleeps in the same bed as you?" Hayden asked his sister

"Hayden, Alec, and I are dating so of course he sleeps in the same bed as me," Hope stated with a scoff

"Are you two being safe?" Luke asked making her wince

"Luke," Hope spoke with a look

"I'm only asking because you are young and in school and the last thing you need is to get pregnant," Luke explained making her nod

"Yes, Alec and I are safe now will you stop questioning me about that," Hope exclaimed to the two

"I don't like that you two share a bed," Hayden commented earning a scoff

"Are you still on that?" Luke asked the boy who shrugged

"I'm not even gonna question what that means because that usually means that there is more to it," Hayden ranted to the group

"You are not allowed to pull the overprotective brother card," Hope stated with a pointed look

"Why not?" Hayden asked in a loud manner

"Because the last time you played that card, you gave a kid a broken nose," Luke reminded the boy in front of him

"He should have insulted me like that," Hayden defended his actions

"All he said was that he would like to try and be friends," Hope corrected with boy with narrow eyes

Hope checked the time before she told the boys that she had to head home since she was cooking dinner for her and Alec, She made her famous chicken with french fries. Alec never showed up making her pack up the food and head to the institute where she found him wrapped up in paperwork.

"Lost track of time?" Hope asked as she walked in

"I missed dinner, didn't I?" Alec asked looking at the time

"Only by a few hours," Hope responded making him shake his head

"I'm so sorry, it's been so crazy here," Alec whispered as she sat down

"I understand," Hope stated with a chuckle

"I can't believe I forgot," Alec added once again

"It's okay, Alec besides I bought dinner for us and champagne to toast to an awkward talk with my brother and Luke," Hope spoke with a smile

"What did you three talk about?" Alec asked looking at her

"Me and you, Luke warning me not to get pregnant," Hope added that last bit in a rush

"What, was that last thing?" Alec asked with concern

"The subject of you stating with me from time to time came up and Luke was like, "You're being safe right?" I told him that we were and I left it at that since I didn't want to talk about that with my brother and adoptive father," Hope rambled making him chuckle

"Right, hence the awkward talk," Alec joked making her nod

"Guys, we need help," Clary spoke as she came in

"Dot?" Hope asked as she stood up

"After Elliot opened his shop we lost touch but when I was little, Elliot was one of my mom's best friends," Clary explained as they all walked

"He introduced me to Jocelyn," Dot added in support

"And now you're concerned he's in trouble," Alec spoke while nodding

"The mark on Dot's arm is part of a protection spell," Hope explained to the group

"It's a sigil and it only transfers to another warlock if something terrible has happened," Dot added to the blonde

"Whatever he's guarding must be pretty important," Alec commented to Dot and Clary

"It's the Mortal Mirror," Clary stated making Hope take a step closer

"Jocelyn had it?" Hope asked her best friend

"I know it's crazy, the mirror and the cup, I guess my mom knew Elliot would do anything to keep it safe and as a warlock, he could protect it better than anyone, right? So she entrusted him with its location," Clary questioned with a chuckle

"And Elliot entrusted it to me," Dot explained before Alec spoke up

"So you know the current location of the Mortal Mirror?" Alec questioned the woman

"Sort of, these lines coordinate to specific Ley lines in the city. I can figure it out, but it'll take some time," Dot responded to the Lightwood

"We have maps of all the Ley lines, we can help you," Alec stated to the woman

"And we can protect you from Jonathan and Valentine, with those marks on your wrist, it's only a matter of time before they come after you," Jace explained while crossing his arm

"Jace and I will go to Elliot's shop, and see what happened. You'll be safe here," Clary spoke while taking the woman's hands

"Be careful," Dot stated before Jace and Clary left

Hope sighed and looked at Alec before going to help Dot with the ley lines, they weren't getting much as Hope didn't much about the ley lines. Dot decided that Hope needed a break, so Dot told Hope to go take a nap or go read just so she could relax a bit. Hope nodded her head before going to Alec's office to read her book as he worked on his paperwork.
