𝗙𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘆-𝗧𝘄𝗼, 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗲

They rushed Magnus to the infirmary so he could see some medical attention, Hope was worried since she had grown closer to him as they were practicing and learning magic together. Hope was holding Alec's hand in comfort as she knew that Magnus and Alec were practically best friends at this point.

"Did you manage to make contact with the people at the Spiral Labyrinth?" Alec asked as the door opened

"Yes, and I shared the test results, and he agreed, Magnus's body is rejecting Lorenzo's magic," Catarina responded as she came in

"Rejecting? What do you mean?" Hope asked as she was confused

"Think of it like a failing organ transplant, each time Magnus performs a spell, it puts a tremendous strain on his body. He got lucky this time, he will regain consciousness but if he uses magic again, even for something small, he might not survive," Catarina explained causing them to pause

"Why can't you just fix him? Why can't you just take Lorenzo's magic out?" Alec asked once again

"I wish I could, the only one who can reverse the transfer is the person who gave it to him," Catarina answered as Alec rolled his eyes

"Lorenzo did this on purpose," Alec remarked with anger

"Alec, there's no way he could have planned it with magic transfusions, there's always this possibility," Catarina added to the man

"No, he knew how desperate Magnus was and he took advantage of him," Hope scolded the girl

"I'm not gonna let this son of a bitch get away with it," Alec stated as well

"You need to settle down, what's the Shadowhunter saying? Emotions cloud judgment If you lose your temper with Lorenzo, he'll have less incentive to help because, like it or not, Lorenzo Rey is Magnus's only hope," Catarina stated causing Alec to sigh

Hope had gotten a text that Maryse was going to represent Luke with his case which she took as a blessing since it was clear that he was ready to give up on fighting for his freedom. Hope had gone with Maryse to see Luke. Hope sat in the chair opposite to Luke, her smile dropped when she saw the marks on his face from the other inmates.

"Lucian, your face..." Maryse spoke as they walked

"There was a guy I put away a few years ago, I handled it," Luke spoke trying to calm them down

"For now, all this stress, this pressure, what if you can't control yourself? What if you turn?" Hope questioned her father

"It won't happen, I knew what I was getting into when I decided to do this so what's all the stuff? Did you knock over a library?" Luke asked looking at the books

"Uh, I brought you some reading material, turns out Elliot was a closet mystery buff. There are piles of these hidden all over the shop," Maryse explained to the werewolf

"Wait, did you go back?" Luke asked the woman

"You, my friend, are looking at the new owner of Ouroboros Books and Antiques," Maryse admitted to the man

"Oh, well! Maryse Lightwood, entrepreneur," Luke joked with the Lightwood woman

"I never would've gotten the idea if you hadn't dragged me down there, so thank you, what is it?" Maryse added with a chuckle

"I don't want you to visit me anymore," Luke stated causing them to pause

"What?" Hope asked in a loud manner

"Maryse said you wanted a fresh start, and now you've got it, you've got your whole life in front of you and Hope, You're going to be a mom, you need to focus on them and not me, I've got this," Luke stated to them

"That doesn't mean you have to go it alone," Maryse corrected her friend

"It's important for me to see you move on to see you be happy," Luke whispered with a smile

"I am happy, consider me your Book of the Month Club, I am not gonna turn my back on you, Lucian," Maryse stated while looking at him

"Not now, not ever," Hope stated with a warm smile

Magnus was going to be okay so they all took that as a win, Hope was cooking dinner when Alec walked in after talking to his mom to catch up and check up on her. Alec came up behind her and kissed her neck as she cooked making her chuckle and turn around so she could face him, She wrapped her arms around his neck before leaning in for a kiss.
