𝗧𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆-𝗦𝗶𝘅, 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱

Hope was at the bar with Luke rambling on about school, it was supposed to be a family night but Hayden was helping Maia work the bar for the extra money that he wanted. Jace was drinking about his newfound family revelation and what that had meant for him. Hayden sighed before looking back at his twin sister and grabbed her hand making her pause

"I think you need to just calm down and take a deep breath," Hayden told his sister who rolled her eyes

"Easier said than done," Hope commented with a chuckle

"Then take this shot and drink it," Hayden stated poring a shot

"Uh no, she's still a minor as are you," Luke scolded as he came back up to her

"Overprotective father mode, yikes," Hayden mumbled before walking away

"You know me, Luke, I'm no leader, and I never have been!" Simon ranted as he walked up

"Don't sell yourself short, not everybody can start a band when they're dead," Hope added in support

"Well, that band imploded, I mean, you wanna meet my new band 'cause you're looking right at it! Look, all I want to do is go to college and hang out with my girlfriend, is that too much to ask?" Simon questioned with a deep breath

"About that, I hope you and Clary are, you know, being safe," Luke started as Simon nodded

"Totally but I figured, 'cause of the vampire thing, I couldn't really get Clary, you know..." Simon trailed off before Luke held up a hand

"Whoa! Whoa! I wasn't talking about that, I was talking about the bloodlust," Luke scolded the vampire

"Well, if things get too heated I can, um, I know how to pull back," Simon explained to the man

"Uh, just don't get overconfident, I've seen it happen before. You know, temptation and emotion but as for you and Alec in that department, definitely be safe," Luke responded making her eyes widen

"Can we please talk about any other topic but this please?" Hope asked her adoptive father

"Absolutely," Luke agreed with a wince

"Luke, we need to talk, a Shadowhunter's been mutilated and killed by a wolf," Alec stated making everyone pause

"Watch your tone in here," Luke scolded the boys

"How do you know a wolf killed him?" Hayden asked with a sigh

"Because of the claw marks and traces of DNA on the body," Alec stated to the boy

"Luke, the Inquisitor would like you to come in, just to answer a few questions," Jace explained as Hope rolled her eyes

"Are you questioning him or are you accusing him?" Hope asked her friend

"A week ago, you demanded the destruction of the Soul Sword, A demand which, of course, is impossible to even consider, was this leads me to wonder was this killing was an act of revenge on the Clave?" Clave questioned the alpha

"You think that I would murder a Shadowhunter?" Luke questioned with a scoff

"We all know about your temper, Lucian," The Clave responded with a scoff

"Does she really think Luke did this?" Alec asked in a whisper

"Take my DNA and test it against your evidence. I'm not your wolf and if any one of my pack did it, I'll kill them myself," Luke stated to the shadowhunter

Hope looked at her adoptive father with wide eyes before he was escorted down to the lab, Hope shared a look with Alec as she walked out. Alec had chased after her so they could talk and check up on each other.

"Hey, are you okay?" Alec asked before she stopped walking

"Luke didn't kill him," Hope stated crossing her arms

"Do you have proof of this?" Alec questioned making her scoff

"Consider this, Line crossed," Hope stated coming closer

"I'm just doing what I'm told," Alec defended himself

"Alec, too far," Hope reminded before walking off

"Why are you mad at me when it's the Clave?" Alec asked running back up to her

"The clave is not making you act like he's some common criminal, you know him," Hope explained slowly

Alec didn't know what to say which made Hope nod her head and then walk off, she was mad that they weren't giving her or Luke time to explain what they thought of it. Clary had been attacked making Hope rush to her side as the girl was asleep.

"What happened?" Clary questioned as she woke up

"You were drugged, fortunately, Simon got to you before it was too late," Alec responded while watching her

"They tried to kill me? Where's Simon?" Clary asked going to sit up

"Hey, take it easy," Hope told her as she stood up

"Where is he? Is he okay?" Clary asked in a worry

"He refused to leave the premises and Inquisitor Herondale had him taken down to the detention level," Alec explained as he watched the girl

"She locked up Simon?" Clary asked before standing up and rushing away

"Clary, take it slow," Hope pleaded following her sister

"You cannot be down here," Duncan stated stepping into their way

"I have clearance and she's with me," Clary stated in return

"Not anymore, Inquisitor's orders," Duncan responded with a glare

"Duncan, please, we need to see Simon," Hope pleaded with the man before they were both grabbed

"Simon, if you can hear me, I will get you out of here! Simon!" Clary yelled as they were pulled away

Once, they got to the main entrance, Hope pulled her arms out of the shadowhunters grip before scoffing when she saw Jace walking up to them. She didn't have anything to say in response before leaving. They had caught who was doing the killings which gave people a chance to settle a little bit, Alec had come to say sorry which made her say sorry for not giving him a better chance to explain.
