"You are the best thing,
that's ever been mine."

After informing their parents about their ice cream walk, Miyeon and Mirae hopped into the car as the driver took them to the nearest convenience store.

It was a short twenty-minute drive, but Mirae's excitement made it feel like an eternity. As soon as the car stopped, Mirae practically leapt out and dashed into the store, heading straight for the ice cream aisle.

Miyeon followed at a more leisurely pace, her lips curving into a fond smile as she watched her bouncing with each step she took. Before entering, she turned to the driver, "Uncle Min, you can take a break. I'll call you fifteen minutes before we're done."

Inside, Miyeon's eyes roamed the store until they landed on the cashier behind the counter. He was short, with a serious expression, but his smile held a quiet charm. His hair was a bit dishevelled, giving him an effortless kind of attractiveness. Miyeon quickly shifted her gaze, focusing instead on finding Mirae.

She found her standing in front of the ice creams, her brows furrowed in deep contemplation and hands on her hips, "Still deciding?" Miyeon asked, picking up a chocolate ice cream for herself.

"I can't choose between these two," Mirae confessed, holding up two different flavours.

Miyeon didn't hesitate. She grabbed both flavours from her hands and started walking toward the counter.

Mirae trailed after her, confused and tugged her sisters sleeves, "Miya, what are you doing?"

"Why choose when you can have both?" Miyeon replied with a mischievous smile.

Mirae's face lit up with joy. "Really? You're buying both for me? I love you so much!"

Miyeon nodded, amused by her sister's happiness. At the counter, the cashier greeted them with a polite smile, "Hi! Is this all?"

Miyeon glanced at Mirae, who quickly shook her head and darted off to find more treats even before Miyeon could say anything. She wasn't going to miss the chance to have free treats.

Miyeon sighed, turning her gaze back front and apologizing to the cashier, "Just give us a minute."

"It's no problem," he said with a friendly smile, returning to his computer screen. As Miyeon waited, she noticed his name tag:

Lee Jihoon

Just then, Jihoon looked up and seemed to recognize her. "Hey, don't mind me asking, but are you Kim Miyeon?"

Miyeon blinked, surprised. "Yes, I am. How do you know?"

Jihoon immediately looked flustered, waving his hands in denial as his ears turned red, "Oh, I didn't mean to be weird! It's just that I've seen you around at college. You're kind of the talk of the campus since you're new. Sorry if I sounded creepy."

Miyeon couldn't help but laugh at his panicked expression. "Relax, you're not creepy at all. Plus, you're too cute to be a creep. Though, we can never be too sure," she teased with a wink.

Jihoon's face turned bright red, his eyes wide with embarrassment. He cleared his throat awkwardly, "You're... pretty too," he stammered before turning away to fuss with something behind the counter-though there was nothing there but a plain wall.

Miyeon chuckled at his flushed behaviour, "Thanks," she said, amused by how easily flustered he was.

Soon, Mirae returned with an armful of snacks and dumped them on the counter. "That's all!" she declared with a grin.

Miyeon looked at the mountain of treats and raised an eyebrow. "This is all?"

Mirae nodded enthusiastically. "Hurry, Miya, or the ice cream will melt!"
