Miyeon opened the terrace door and was immediately greeted by a thick cloud of smoke. She coughed, fanning her hand in front of her face to disperse the haze, and noticed Sohee leaning against the wall just outside, a cigarette between her lips.

When Sohee noticed Miyeon's arrival, she quickly exhaled the remaining smoke, dropped the cigarette to the ground, and crushed it under her shoe. A gentle smile softened her features.

"Hi," Sohee greeted.

"I didn't know you smoked," Miyeon replied as she stepped onto the terrace and joined Sohee. Together, they walked toward one of the terrace corners.

They leaned against the metal railing, feeling its cool surface under their arms. After an exhausting practice session, the breeze felt refreshing against their warm skin, and the view from up high was peaceful. The university grounds stretched below, with a sprawling lake and clusters of trees scattered around. The late afternoon sun was bright and almost blinding, but a cool wind softened its intensity.

"Only sometimes," Sohee said, looking out over the view with distant eyes. After a pause, she turned toward Miyeon. "Are you hungry?"

Miyeon tilted her head, studying Sohee before sitting down on the terrace floor, unconcerned about her white sweats getting dirty. Sohee followed suit, both of them resting their backs against the railing.

"Yeah, I am," Miyeon admitted with a small smile.

Sohee reached into her pocket and pulled out a chocolate bar, offering it to her. Miyeon's face lit up in surprise as she accepted it.

"I remember you once said you liked this brand," Sohee explained, her voice tinged with embarrassment. She looked away, unsure of Miyeon's reaction.

Miyeon's smile grew wide, her face softening with gratitude. She hadn't expected Sohee to remember something so small. The thoughtful gesture made her want to tear up, though she held it back.

"Thank you, Sohee," she said, smiling ear-to-ear.

Sohee turned to glance at Miyeon. At that moment, Miyeon looked so joyful and relaxed-a stark contrast to the girl who'd nearly broken down hours earlier. Sohee felt a quiet satisfaction knowing she could bring a bit of lightness to her day.

A comfortable silence settled between them, punctuated only by the faint crinkling of the chocolate wrapper as Miyeon unwrapped it. Meanwhile, Sohee wrestled with her thoughts, debating whether she should say what had been on her mind. Seeing Miyeon's smile almost made her want to keep the mood light, but she also felt Miyeon deserved to know.

"Do you know Choi Yewon by any chance?" Sohee asked, breaking the silence.

Miyeon froze mid-bite, taken aback. She hadn't expected Yewon's name to come up, but she realized that avoiding the subject wouldn't make sense, especially since Sohee already knew something.
