The cafeteria buzzed faintly with the hum of chatter, but their table stood out, filled with laughter and teasing. Jeonghan, Nari, Seungkwan, Seungcheol, Mingyu, Dokyeom, Hoshi, Joshua, and Taehyung sat together, their voices overlapping as they bantered back and forth.

"I’m telling you," Seungkwan let out dramatically, leaning across the table to jab a finger toward Mingyu, "If it wasn’t for my knee injury that day, I would’ve been on that team instead of you. Probably the star player by now."

Mingyu leaned back in his chair, his eyes narrowing in mock annoyance, "Until you’re actually on the team, your opinion doesn’t count," he shot back. Then, with a smirk, he added, "Besides, the last thing our team needs is someone who just runs their mouth the whole game non stop."

The table erupted into laughter, Mingyu grinning smugly as Seungkwan let out a dramatic groan and flopped onto the table like a wounded soldier.

"You’re all finding this hilarious, aren’t you?", Seungkwan mumbled into his arms, his tone dripping with betrayal.

"Extremely," Nari replied between giggles, Jeonghan nodding in agreement beside her as they both struggled to contain their laughter. Joshua, seated between the two, chuckled softly, attempting—and failing—to hide his amusement.

Seungcheol shook his head, though his lips twitched upward in a smile, "He’s just teasing you, Gyu. Don’t take it to heart."

"Yeah, sure," Mingyu grumbled, though his eyes sparkled with humor as he reached for his juice.

The warmth of their joking camaraderie filled the space, a small bubble of lightheartedness in their otherwise exhausting third year. But the moment was abruptly shattered when a figure approached their table.

Yewon.

Her steps were hurried, her expression stiff and unreadable. Her presence was like a cold wind cutting through the warmth of the group. Conversations died down as all eyes turned to her, confusion and concern rippling through the table.

Dokyeom, seated nearest to her path, instinctively straightened, his smile faltering as he caught the sharpness in her gaze.

"Yewon?" Jeonghan was the first to speak, his voice cautious as he stood from his seat. He moved closer to her, his usual calm demeanor now tinged with unease, "Are you okay?"
