'I don't wanna look at anything else now that I saw you.'
Coming from a wealthy family was never the major flex in her life. To others, she might come off as a rich spoilt brat but the reality was far from what they perceived her to be.
In a world...

It had been two days since Miyeon left her room.
Two days since she last stepped onto campus.
Two days since she missed practice sessions, letting Sohee take over on her behalf with some flimsy excuse.
She knew it was wrong. As the captain of her team, it was her responsibility to be the first one there, to guide and support her teammates. But ever since that night-two days ago-ever since that fateful night, when she rejected Jeonghan, when she shattered her own heart into pieces too broken to heal, she had shut herself in.
Wonwoo had wanted to stay back with her-she could see it in his eyes, in the hesitation in his steps-but he didn't. Maybe he still thought she hated him. Dino had told her that much. And yet, Miyeon didn't make an effort to tell him otherwise. It was easier this way. Easier if he stayed away. If they all stayed away.
For the past two days, Miyeon had spent her time lost in thought, wondering why her? Why did everything always go wrong for her? The guilt gnawed at her, the self-doubt that she'd never managed to shake off.
Miyeon had already lost so much in her life.
Her grandparents, gone in a sudden accident. Her eldest uncle, his pregnant wife, and Dino's mother- all lost in a single car crash that still haunted her in moments of silence.
Those early days were painful, but she was relatively young to understand the depth of that kind of grief.
She remembered herself as a seventeen-year-old girl, holding Dino in her arms as he wept uncontrollably for the mother he had lost. Miyeon had wanted to cry too. God, she had wanted to, but not in front of him.
Not when he was so broken. So she held him tighter, offering him the strength she couldn't give herself and A reassuring smile while holding him tight, even as the elders lowered the three caskets into the ground.
Later, in the quiet of her own room, her tears came, but they were private. She didn't need anyone to see her break.
The third time it happened-the pain-was worse. It was when Daehan died. That time, there were no masks. Miyeon cried until her throat felt raw, but this time, she didn't hold back. Her family was there, yes, but no one more than Wonwoo.
He was there, holding her, supporting her, even when she felt as if the world was crashing down.
Two years passed, and Miyeon had promised herself she would stop drowning in self-pity.
'I won't do it anymore,' she had vowed.
Yet, time was cruel.
Because now, she was standing alone once more, for the fourth time. The weight of it should have crushed her. And maybe it would have, if not for the fire burning inside her now-a fire that refused to let her break.
