Joshua raised an eyebrow as he leaned against the doorframe, eyeing Jeonghan skeptically. "Did you seriously come knocking on my door to ask for advice?" His voice dripped with disbelief.

Jeonghan flashed his signature cheeky grin. "Maybe."

Joshua sighed, already feeling a headache coming on. "Stop lying, Jeonghan."

"Okay, fine. I didn’t exactly come for advice..." Jeonghan admitted, though his mischievous smile didn’t fade.

Joshua rubbed his forehead in frustration, knowing he was never going to get the full story upfront. "Do you want to come in or go out?" he asked, resigned to the fact that his peaceful morning was over.

"Go out," Jeonghan responded without hesitation, already turning on his heel and heading toward the car.

With another sigh, Joshua grabbed his jacket and followed Jeonghan outside. His thoughts drifted as they walked to the car—his mother was still at the hospital, and she had mentioned she’d be late coming home. He hadn’t told her he’d be out either, not thinking it was important. They passed by the guard with a casual nod and made their way to Jeonghan’s car.

As Joshua reached for the passenger-side door, he was greeted by a beaming Seungcheol in the driver’s seat.

"Hi, Shua!" Seungcheol greeted enthusiastically, his smile wide.

Joshua sighed again, but this time it was more playful than frustrated. "What are you doing here? Don’t tell me you’re also looking for advice, like this guy." He motioned toward Jeonghan, who was already slipping into the driver’s seat.

Jeonghan placed a hand dramatically over his heart. "That’s offensive, man."

Joshua shook his head as he climbed into the backseat. "It was just curiosity."

His mood was still far from cheerful, partly because his peaceful nap had been rudely interrupted by Jeonghan’s knock. He had planned to enjoy a lazy weekend at home, especially since his mother wasn’t around. Sleeping was his top priority—until his two best friends decided otherwise.

"Where are we even going?" Joshua asked after a brief silence, glancing out the window.

Jeonghan met his gaze through the rearview mirror and shrugged. "We were hoping you’d have an idea."

Joshua narrowed his eyes. "Are you kidding me? You woke me up from my perfectly blissful nap without a plan? Fantastic. Absolutely wonderful. Ten out of ten for this surprise adventure."

Seungcheol turned around in his seat, giving Joshua a curious look. "How much do you even sleep, Shua?"

"As much as I need," Joshua replied with a shrug, the irritation still simmering beneath the surface.

"Fair enough," Seungcheol replied, nodding in understanding.

A little while later, the three of them found themselves sitting on a park bench, ice creams in hand, watching the chaos unfold on the nearby playground. A group of kids was causing a commotion, and their attention was drawn to a little boy pushing another off the swing.

"Kids are basically tiny demons," Seungcheol remarked, his wry smile betraying his amusement.

Joshua scoffed, still a little grumpy. "You say that as if you weren’t one yourself."

"I was an exception," Seungcheol declared, his tone dripping with mock arrogance. "God has favorites, Joshua. You wouldn’t understand."

Joshua rolled his eyes, ready to fire back, but Jeonghan suddenly shook both of them by the shoulders, forcing their attention elsewhere.

"Look over there. Isn’t that Miyeon?" Jeonghan asked, pointing to a girl walking down the sidewalk. Sure enough, it was Miyeon, but she wasn’t alone.

Walking beside her was a tall guy, his face not clearly visible yet what was visible was his height towering over hers as they chatted. His casual yet striking appearance made him stand out, and as Miyeon laughed at something he said, she reached out and intertwined her fingers with his.

"Who’s the guy?" Seungcheol asked, his brows furrowing in confusion.

Joshua leaned back in his seat, squinting. "I’ve can't see him from here. Maybe he’s a cousin or just a friend?"

Jeonghan’s eyes lingered on their intertwined hands, and Joshua couldn’t help but smirk at his friend's reaction. He made a mental note to tease him about this later.

The three of them watched in silence as Miyeon and the mystery guy climbed into a sleek car and drove off, completely unaware of the onlookers.

"Am I crazy, or does she look familiar?" Seungcheol asked, breaking the silence. "I swear I’ve seen her before, like in another context."

Jeonghan had been thinking the same thing. Miyeon did seem strangely familiar, though he couldn’t pinpoint why. His thoughts had been circling around this for days.

Joshua shook his head. "She told us she lived in China for a while. Maybe that’s why she seems unfamiliar. Unless, of course, one of you went to China without telling me?" He raised an eyebrow, though his suspicion was clearly in jest.

Seungcheol laughed, shaking his head. "No secret trips to China here."

"Speaking of Miyeon, did any of you find out anything about the notes Jeonghan saw with her?" Seungcheol asked, his curiosity piqued. They had been trying to figure out what was written on those mysterious notes for days, but they hadn’t made any progress.

Jeonghan glanced at Joshua. "Maybe Shua knows something. He’s her friend, after all."

Joshua and Seungcheol exchanged knowing smirks before Joshua turned to Jeonghan with a teasing glint in his eye. "Jealous, are we?"

Jeonghan sputtered in disbelief. "What? No! Why would I be jealous?" His protest only made them laugh harder.

"Right, right. As you say, Jeonghanie," Seungcheol chimed in with a grin, clearly enjoying his friend’s discomfort.

"Stop it. Both of you," Jeonghan groaned, burying his face in his hands as the two continued to tease him mercilessly.

"Mi-Han," Joshua muttered under his breath, testing out the ship name with a smirk. Seungcheol immediately caught on.

"That’s it! Mi-Han's. Perfect," Seungcheol declared, causing Jeonghan to groan even louder.

"I regret taking both of you out. I should’ve left you to rot in your beds," Jeonghan muttered, though the hint of a smile betrayed him.

"Bullying you? I wouldn’t call it that," Seungcheol said with a grin, nodding at Joshua. "For once, I’m not the one being bullied. Feels pretty good. Let's target, Shua, next."

Joshua nodded in agreement, playing along. "Next up is me, huh? I dare you both. But just know—I won’t be as nice about it."

Seungcheol chuckled, raising his ice cream cone in mock salute. "Challenge accepted."

Jeonghan rolled his eyes, smiling despite himself. He couldn’t shake the feeling that Miyeon had some secret, some mystery about her that he was dying to uncover. And for better or worse, he knew he was already far too invested.
