By evening, the sky had turned a dusky blue, and the moon peeked shyly from behind a veil of silver clouds, casting a soft glow over the garden below Miyeon's window.

The earlier chaos felt like a memory wrapped in laughter, now tucked away beneath the comfort of twilight. She sat on the edge of her bed, her fingers absently brushing the pillow where Jeonghan had briefly sat, the warmth of his presence still lingering like a phantom touch.

Everything felt quieter now. No Mirae barging in, no frantic shuffling or whispered warnings...just the gentle hum of cicadas and the distant rustle of trees swaying like sleepy dancers under the moonlight.

Miyeon slowly rose from the bed, her limbs heavy with the weight of the day, and walked over to the mirror with quiet steps, the floor cool beneath her feet.

She stood in front of the mirror, her fingers brushing over the pale blue fabric. The dress felt like a soft breath against her skin, elegant but not loud, simple yet stunning.

One shoulder was bare while the other was wrapped in a delicate fold, almost like the dress was giving her a reassuring hug. It cinched at her waist just right, the hem falling in a graceful, uneven line that made her feel like she was stepping out of a dream.

Her hair was pulled into a low bun, though a few soft strands had escaped, curling gently around her face. She tilted her head, catching her own gaze in the mirror, and let out a sigh. Despite the glamor shaping her face and body, her heart didn't feel light.

Miyeon looked at herself in the mirror one last time, the quiet echo of her own breath filling the room. Her fingertips brushed over the soft blue fabric at her waist as if trying to memorize the feeling of this moment.

Despite the elegance that draped her like moonlight or the occasion it was for, her heart felt unbearably heavy as if it, too, wore layers of unshed words and aching silence. She took a breath, slipped into her heels, and gently picked up her phone and clutch, giving herself one final glance before stepping out of her room.

Just as she reached the top of the staircase, her heels softly tapping against the marble floor, the playful laugh of Mirae came from below.

Miyeon smiled briefly until she saw Dino emerging from his room at the other end of the hallway. Their eyes met for the smallest second, but he looked right past her, his face cold, unreadable.

Her smile faltered, her fingers tightening around her clutch. She tried to speak, his name quietly, hopefully, but he kept walking as if she didn't exist. It hurt more than she expected, like a fresh cut over an old bruise. Still, despite the sting, she felt a strange warmth.

He was going. He was still showing up for her.

As she descended the stairs, the soft rustle of her dress following her steps, she spotted her family gathered in the living room. Her parents stood at the front, Mirae was fussing with her own hair, and Wonwoo adjusted the sleeves of his jacket.
