Miyeon stared up at the grand estate before her, her eyes scanning the sprawling property that extended to a dense forest in the background. The sheer size and luxury of it all were almost overwhelming, the kind of place she'd only ever seen in movies.

She handed her car keys to the valet, her fingers brushing against the smooth metal one last time before following the staff member toward the towering mahogany doors of the mansion.

Her eyes darted around, taking in the intricate landscaping, the perfectly polished windows, and the marble pathways leading to who knew where. The grandeur of it all made her thoughts wander.

'Sohee's dad must be raking in serious money from all those high-profile cases despite his previous allegations,' she thought, half in awe, half in disbelief.

This morning had started on a chaotic note when Sohee had called her, excitedly asking her to come over because her father finally had a break in his busy schedule to discuss Miyeon's case. She'd been eager to meet him, seeing it as a chance to finally make progress on something that had been looming over her for weeks.

Still, there was a slight unease lingering in the back of her mind. Earlier that day, she'd seen Nari sitting at the kitchen counter with a sandwich in hand, her face unreadable.

Miyeon had smiled at her best friend, hoping for at least a nod in return, but Nari had simply stared at her before walking away without a word. It had been like this ever since Miyeon came back home after Jeonghan's car crash.

Nari's silence usually meant she was going through something- a coping mechanism of sorts- but this time, it felt... different. And then, just as Miyeon was leaving for Sohee's, she'd caught a glimpse of Nari walking with Yewon, their backs turned to her.

Something about the sight stung more than it should have, but she pushed the thought aside.

Now, standing in front of the heavy doors, Miyeon shook off her musings. She had more pressing matters to focus on.

The man standing in front of her cleared his throat, pulling her from her thoughts. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and effortlessly handsome, with dark brown hair styled neatly and a sharp jawline that seemed to glint in the sunlight.

His polo shirt stretched over well-defined muscles, and a tattoo peeked out from under his sleeve, curling along his right arm. Miyeon's gaze lingered a moment too long before she realized what she was doing.

Her ears burned with embarrassment as the man chuckled softly. He extended a hand toward her, his smile easy and warm. "I'm Eunwoo. An intern at Mr. Han's firm," he said, his voice carrying a hint of amusement.
