"Daehan must be really happy that you finally came to meet him," Yewon murmured, pulling into the university parking lot just outside the gymnasium.

Rain drummed relentlessly against the car windows, cascading down in rivulets that blurred the outside world. The air inside was thick with the weight of unspoken emotions, the cold seeped in through the cracked window, but none of it compared to the icy knot forming in Miyeon’s stomach.

She gazed out at the gymnasium, barely visible through the downpour, her hands clenching into tight fists on her lap. Her nails dug into her palms, leaving crescent-shaped imprints against her skin.

Was she really ready to face them?

Were they ready to see her after everything?

"What if they hate me?", her voice came out in a whisper, barely audible over the rain. Her eyes never left the gymnasium, as if staring hard enough would give her the courage she lacked.

For a long moment, Yewon didn’t respond, only the rhythmic tapping of raindrops filling the silence. Then, with a quiet sigh, Miyeon felt the warmth of Yewon's hand covering her own, stopping her from hurting herself further.

But the warmth wasn't as comforting as the one she craved.

"They could never hate you, Miyeon," Yewon said softly, "I could never hate you… even if I pretended I did."

Miyeon turned to look at her, eyes red and swollen from crying. She scoffed, the sound wet and exhausted, "Liar."

Yewon let out a chuckle, as if she had been expecting that, "I get why you think that. But it’s not easy to hate you. I thought I could, but you always gave me a reason not to. Despite blaming you, I never truly hated you. I get why so many people care about you. It’s just… a you thing."

Miyeon studied her for a long moment, letting the words sink in. They felt too good to be true.

After a pause, she hesitated before asking, "So you don’t blame me for…", her voice wavered, "For everything? Even after knowing who's behind all this?"
