a/n - please voteee! one of my fav stories ive written so far

olivia's pov , senior year
i watch as y/n garcia walks in. most popular girl in the school, causing her to hook up with a lot of girls. key word, girls. she was lesbian. i'd hear at least one guy every day complaining about how y/n doesn't go for guys. what a shame.

i think i was too emotionally attached for a hook up. i don't understand how you could do it without catching feelings, or doing it with someone you love. maybe it's just me, because y/n acts like nothing happened after word spreads that she had sex with her next girl for the week. i wouldn't mind being in a relationship with y/n garcia, but i know she'd never be in a relationship, let alone with me.

she had a lot of friends in her classes, but they were pretty... dumb. she didn't have any friends in english, she sat alone. she never hung out with them in the cafeteria at break, either.

conan on my left and madison on my right, we listen to har as she explains the work. or rather, project. "now, i want you guys to pick a partner and create a documentary on a subject that fascinates you. this could involve conducting interviews on a person that fascinates you, researching historical events, or exploring current issues," she explains, "this'll be a mark that goes towards your final mark of your report." conan puts his hand up. "one partner?" conan asks. har says, "alright, max three, minimum two." perfect. i smile, looking at conan and iris.

she looks in the far right corner and says with a slight tone, "yes, y/n?" har and y/n were never on good terms. i knew y/n didn't like some teachers, but har especially. "and if you don't have a partner?" y/n asks, giving a tone back. "then... we'll figure it out. there's an even amount of students in this class," har says, "i'm sure you can join a group."

y/n's pov
i watch as people get into their groups, looking down at my book. "alright, everyone in their groups?" har asks. i look around. everyone was already in a group of three.

"nope," i say, popping the 'p' and looking down as i play with my pen, "can't i just do it by myself?" "y/n, no," har says, "anyone wanna be a good peer and volunteer to be y/n's partner?" i see at least five people raise their hands. i scan them. all straight educationally incapable men. oh god. my worst nightmare.

har sighs as she scans the raised hands, knowing that none of them could fit up to my standards. her eyes fall in front of someone. "olivia, would you mind being y/n's partner?"

i feel a rush of guilt. i know olivia and her friends were tight. i saw how happy they were when har said they could get into a group of three. i had never talked to the girl, but i could never be in a group with her, knowing she'd rather be with someone else. knowing anyone else would rather be with someone else.

"oh," olivia says, "um... sure." she seemed disappointed. i would be too. "no, it's fine," i say, "i can just... do it by myself." what else was i gonna say? "i already said no, y/n," har warns, "thank you, olivia. can you take a seat beside her?"

i watch as olivia scrapes out her seat as she stands up. if i tried to argue, but i know i'd get a detention eventually.

i look away as she takes a seat beside me, placing her back on the ground. "sorry," i whisper, "i know you wanted to be with your friends." "no, it's okay," olivia says, "you're not the worst person to be with." i crack a smile, "i can... do the work. you don't need to worry about it. you'll be able to hang out with your friends and help out in their documentary." "y/n, it's okay," olivia says. she said my name in a nice way.

har explains the project in more depth. the documentary had to be a minimum of five minutes of the final footage. then, she leaves us to brain storm with our partners.

i sigh, thinking. i knew nothing about the girl, let alone something that fascinates her. "do you like taco bell?" i ask. "what?" olivia chuckles, "we can't do it on taco bell." "well... i'm blank, then," i say, "any ideas?" "favorite artists?" olivia asks. "i listen to taylor swift," i answer. olivia's eyes light up, making me smile.

olivia chuckles, "me too! this is great. i've always wanted to do something on taylor! we should do her!" "if you want," i say. "do you want to?" olivia asks, lowering down her energetic energy. "sure," i smile, "i mean, i'm making up for not having friends in english." olivia chuckles, "no, you're good. taylor it is, then!"

the bell goes, and i pick up my bag. "hey, can i have your number?" olivia asks. i look at her. "for- the, um, project. it's not a lesson thing, you know?" olivia says. "oh, yeah," i nod. olivia takes out her phone, and i type my number into it, putting the name as 'y/n garcia'.

"thanks," olivia smiles, placing her phoen in her pocket after glancing at it, "i'll text you?" "i'm sure you will," i nod, walking away.

olivia's pov
she's sure i will? was i too forward? "hey!" conan exclaims, walking up to me, "we're pissed that we got separated." "yeah, i know," i say, "but i's y/n, so it's okay. what're you guys doing?" "we're doing," iris clears her throat, "drum roll, please." "i'm not doing a drum roll," i laugh. "boring! we're doing climate change," iris says. "are you... serious?" i ask, "out of anything?!" "kidding! we're doing high school musical. what're you and y/n doing?" "we're doing taylor swift," i smile. "your idea?" conan says. "well, i asked what her favorite artist was, and she said taylor swift, so that's the first thing we have in common," i say. "you both like girls," iris grins.

10pm
i look at my phone, deciding to text y/n. no, never mind. i can't seem desperate, even though this is just for a project. i'll text her tomorrow.

y/n's pov
i stare at my phone's lockscreen. was she going to text me?

i walk into english, seeing olivia sitting in the seat next to my usual one. i sit down beside her. "hey," she says. "you didn't text me," i say. "you were waiting?" olivia asks. "no," i lie, "just calling you out." "obsessed already," olivia sighs, "i'll text you tonight." "okay," i say, "so... i was thinking we could listen to our favorite taylor swift songs while we go to our favorite places. i don't mean, like, tavo bell. i mean... our favorite places. amazing view. favorite hang out spot." "then i've got nothing," olivia chuckles. "then i'll take you to mine," i say, "you pick your favorite taylor swift songs, and i'll pick my favorite spots." "deal," olivia grins.

9pm
i smile, getting two messages from olivia. one was a link to a spotify playlist.

'this are my fav songs i put in a playlist juuust for you'

i chuckle, tapping the link. i get redirected to spotify, and i read the playlist name. 'y/n garcia'. fifty taylor swift songs. i save the playlist, scrolling through it.

she was a real swiftie. a lot of these songs were my favorite, too. i got back onto messages.

'most are my fav too'

'i've got my spots to take you to'

'free tmr after school?'

olivia responds quickly.

'should be'

'we have english last'

i type back.

'alright we'll go after school'

olivia responds, and i like her message.

'see you then :)'
