"what're you smiling at?" olivia asks, chuckling. "just thinking about your performance," i say as i pick up my fork, smiling at my pasta. olivia laughs, "oh my gosh!" "it was so good!" i laugh, "i hope they recorded it. i'm gonna watch it until i die." "um... thanks?" olivia says. "you're welcome," i smile.
olivia and i walk out of the restaurant, takeaway of our lunch in my hand. "thank you for paying," olivia says. "no problem," i respond, "thanks for serenading me." olivia says, "well you and... eight hundred others." "well, no, the others can fuck off," i say, making olivia laughs, "you sang to me. you looked at me, like, five hundred times. everyone else was blurred for you." "like the romantic 'popstar finds at her girlfriend in the crowd'?" "oh, totally," i agree. "i can see that," olivia nods. "me being your girlfriend?" i ask, "yeah, i know. a lot of people can see that with themselves." "oh, you're so annoying," she laughs as we slow down when we get to my car, "you were going so well, too! flowering me with compliments, taking me to lunch, and paying for it." "well..." i sigh, "speaking of 'flowering'..." i open the passenger, picking up the bouquet of flowers and looking at olivia.
olivia laughs, looking at the bouquet then me, "are you serious?!" "obviously," i laugh, "but you just called me annoying." "no, i take it back," olivia smiles, "you're not annoying. you're the least annoying person i know." "good," i smile, handing it to her, "then this is for you." "you didn't have to," olivia says, laughing as she takes it. "well you performed for the... what i know is the first time- in front of me," i say, "in front of a lot of people." "thank you," olivia says, "you spoil me too much!" i laugh as she hugs me tight. "how did you even get this? it wasn't here when we went into the car!" "well... remember how i went to the bathroom?" i ask, pulling away. "i was wondering why you took so damn long. i thought you ditched me," olivia laughs. "no, i ran down the street to grab flowers," i laugh.
"do you wanna just leave it in the car?" i ask, parking the car. "won't it die?" she asks. "i'm not sure," i admit. "it's okay, i only have one period," olivia smiles, "and it's music again." "alright," i say, both of us getting olivia. "plus... i get to brag that y/n garcia got me flowers!" olivia sings, and i laugh as i close the door and lock the car.
"alright, i gotta go to class," i tell her as we stand to the wall outside of olivia's music class, "i'm this way." olivia looks at me, "okay. thank you for everything, y/n." "no problem," i smile, "i hope i get to see you sing more."
olivia's pov
i smile, looking down at the flowers as i walk into music. i take one last look at y/n, seeing her walk away."did y/n get you them?" gracie squeals as i sit beside her. i ignore the few eyes on me, looking at gracie with a smile and nodding. "they're really pretty," gracie says, "y/n's never done that for anyone- i mean, that any of us know of..."
i smile. i just got flowers from y/n. she's never done that for anyone.
i message y/n on instagram once i lay in bed.
'hi y/n'
'thank you for the compliments and flowers and taking me out to lunch and paying and walking me to class'
'youre the best :)'
i smile, reading y/n's text that she sent a few seconds later.
'no problem liv!! you deserve them'
'thanks for having lunch with me :)'
