olivia walks to y/n's car, and she sees madison and y/n talking in front of her car. she slows down a little, letting them have enough time.

"i'm still gonna be here for you, mads," y/n tells her. "i know," madison says, "but... you should be with olivia." y/n furrows her eyebrows, "what?" "you should be with olivia," madison says, more confidently, "i know you have something with her. she likes you, too. and she really looks like she likes you. she seems like a sweet girl, y/n. i hope she treats you well." y/n chuckles softly. she didn't know what to say. "but i still wanna be friends with you, y/n. i'll miss your annoying ass too much if i don't," madison chuckles. y/n laughs, "me too, madison. i'm here for you, you know that?" "i know," madison smiles, pulling y/n in for a hug, "we had a good run." "we did, i enjoyed it," y/n says, making madison laugh.

olivia finally makes her way to y/n's car, and madison looks at her. "i should go," madison says to y/n. y/n nods, "see you." olivia looks at madison, and madison gives her a small smile. olivia returns it.

olivia and y/n get into her car, and y/n starts to drive. olivia looks at y/n, "are you guys alright?" y/n nods, "yeah, we were just talking." olivia was so curious what it was about, but it wasn't her business.

y/n and olivia study in silence, going for about twenty minutes. this is the longest they've been quiet. olivia looks at y/n when she hears her breathing heavily, then shakily.

y/n's eyes were filled with tears, and olivia places her pen down. olivia shuffles over, wrapping her arms around y/n. y/n breaks down, crying into olivia's neck.

olivia felt so incredibly bad for y/n. she really hoped that madison was hurting too, but she should win an emmy if she was.

"i'm sorry," y/n whispers, through tears. "y/n, please stop saying you're sorry," olivia whispers back, one hand on the back on y/n's head, "don't be sorry for showing your feelings."

y/n looks at connor as he eats a french fry, olivia beside her and her mom across from her. olivia looks at y/n as y/n looks at her food. "not hungry, y/n?" her mom asks. y/n looks up, sighing, "not really. i'll probably eat later. sorry." "it's okay," alicia says. olivia looks down at y/n's leg, placing her hand on her leg and giving a small squeeze. y/n looks down, placing her hand over olivia's before olivia could take it away. olivia's heart starts to pound. she reminds herself that it was just so y/n felt better, not that she had feelings for olivia.

olivia feels y/n's fingers glide over olivia's fingers, playing with them. y/n looks down at olivia's hand after a bit, running her fingers over olivia's. she looks up at olivia as she sees olivia looking at her through the corner of her eye.

they give each other small smiles, before y/n looks away.

y/n and olivia walk upstairs, y/n's dad taking connor to shower. y/n looks at olivia, before looking at her door and opening it. olivia walks past her, and she feels y/n's hand on her lower back as she walks in. she smiles to herself.

y/n and olivia sit opposite each other on her bed. y/n leans back on her arms, legs crossed. "how're you feeling?" olivia asks. "like... i don't wanna talk about her and never think of her again," y/n says, "but i still have to see her every day." olivia frowns, "it'll get better, y/n." y/n nods, and olivia straightens her legs, putting it over y/n's thighs.

y/n pulls a weird face as olivia's legs were spread out. "this is actually comfortable," olivia says, "don't judge." "well, might as well just straddle me if you're that close," y/n lightly jokes, making olivia smile.

y/n looks down at olivia as she walks into physics, seeing her reading a book. y/n leans down, putting her face next to olivia's and looking at her book. olivia turns her head, looking at y/n and smiling. "what're you reading?" y/n asks, sitting beside olivia and looking at her. "big magic," olivia answers. "is it... about magicians?" y/n asks. "no," olivia laughs, "it's... like the creative person's bible. it's about creativity, and discipline and the anxieties that come along with creativity and how to remedy those. it's amazing, y/n. you should read it. this is my second time reading it."
