olivia laughs as the black ball goes in, winning her the game, "yay!" "good job," y/n says. "but you still win that," olivia says, "you would've won forever ago." "no, you won fair and square," y/n says, "take your win." "thank you," olivia says.

y/n places the cues back, looking at olivia. olivia swallows as they keep eye contact. "olivia!" iris yells from her room. y/n looks away as olivia sighs. "yeah?" olivia yells back. "come up here!" iris yells. olivia looks at y/n, seeing her hands leaning against the pool table edge as she looks at it. y/n sees olivia at the corner of her eyes, looking up. "i should... go," olivia dreads to say. "yeah," y/n says.

olivia starts to walk back, turning around. "thanks for playing with me," y/n says.

olivia stops walking, turning around to see y/n. she expected a little smile but there was no curve on y/n's lips. instead, olivia does the smiling for both of them, "of course, y/n, thanks for letting me play with you. if you ever need an ego booster, just let me know and i'll play with you." she thought that would make y/n laugh, but y/n just bites the inside of her cheek, nodding. maybe she was stifling one. olivia gives y/n another smile, turning around and walking as she smiles wider now that y/n couldn't see her.

y/n keeps her eyes on olivia, before looking away once she was out of sight. she hears footsteps up the door, and y/n walks out of the room, turning the switching the lights off.

olivia walks into iris' room, and everyone looks at her. "your cheeks are so red," conan laughs, "what have you been doing?!" "oh my god, i just played pool with y/n," olivia covers her face, "it was literally nothing." "well, clearly not," madison smiles, "you have a crush on iris' sister!" "no, i don't! you guys are so obsessed with me having crushes," olivia laughs, "maybe if you guys were just as invested in other people, you'd have partners."

y/n slowly walks up the stairs, staring at her socks. she glances in iris' room as she goes to walk past. she makes eye contact with olivia, olivia already smiling. y/n looks away, walking into her room.

y/n sits at her desk, staring at the photograph. she takes a deep, heavy breath, leaning forward and picking it up. she runs her hand over gracie's face, ignoring her own next her her, a bit of dust collecting on her thumb.

she stares at the picture for a few minutes, before snapping out of it and putting the picture back. she doesn't dare to look at it for the rest of the night.

four days later, she hears a knock on her door. "what?" y/n says. the door opens, and y/n looks at iris. "so... you're my favorite sister," iris grins. y/n rolls her eyes, "i'm your only sister. what do you want?" "can we please go and pick olivia up from the station to come back to my house? she has no ride and the next bus is in an hour."

y/n watches olivia walk to her car, opening the back door and getting in. "hey, thanks for picking me up," olivia says, and olivia and y/n make eye contact in the rear mirror as olivia buckles up. "no problem," iris answers for y/n as y/n starts to drive.

"so... how'd your date go with pizza boy?" iris asks, giggling. y/n starts to listen, not daring to show any signs of interest.

olivia groans, "it wasn't a date, iris! we were just... getting to know each other." y/n feels a hint of jealousy in her, but she quickly brushes it away.

"with your lips?" iris asks, laughing at each tease she makes. "i'm gonna get out of the car," olivia says, "no... it was actually a little awkward. we didn't know what to say most of the time, it's like my brain was scrambling to find something to talk about." "well... maybe you just need to get to know him more," iris suggests.
