i look at olivia, moving my hand to her face and moving her hair that fell on her face as she slept, head on my bicep. jade wanted to go to the gym with me, but i really wanted to stay with olivia. i know i've been falling asleep with her every night, but i never took it for granted.

i leave my hand on her jaw, admiring how good she looked even just sleeping. after a few minutes, i carefully take her off my arm, and i press a kiss on her lips before getting out of bed.

"ready?" jade asks as i fill up my water bottle. "in... three... two... one," i say, taking my bottle off the fridge's water dispenser, "ready."

jade and i get into the elevator. "have a nice night?" jade asks. "yeah, the party was really nice," i nod, "and you?" "yeah, pretty good. met some nice people, some... unique," jade says, and i chuckle as i watch her put her hair into a bun.

2 weeks later
i look away from olivia and i's tv in our room, and at olivia. she had her attention diverted to her phone, tapping away.

"what're you doing?" i ask her, wondering what was more important. "just... doing something," she says, not even bothered to look up from her phone. "you're always on it," i mutter, with a tint of annoyance. "i'm not," olivia denies. "can you put it down for an hour and watch a movie with me? we've barely had time to hang out these past two weeks," i say.

"y/n, i am watching the movie," she finally looks at me, voice tinged with irritation, "i'm just checking my messages during the boring parts." "you've been on your phone the entire time," i tell her, eyebrows furrowed. "then can you pick a better movie?" she asks. "i offered for you to pick the movie," i tell her, "but you told me to pick it while you went on your phone, so you can pick the movie. plus, we've watched so many boring movies the past year. you've been fine then." i place the remote in her lap, and i look at olivia as she scoffs. "maybe things have changed," olivia says. "what're you saying?" i ask, shaking my head.

olivia then shakes her head, picking up the remote. "i don't even wanna watch anymore," she admits, turning the tv off. "not like you were watching in the first place," i shoot, looking down at her phone. i read the contact name that she was texting, looking back up at her, "right, so you've been texting your boyfriend, louis, the whole time?" "he's not my boyfriend," olivia says, "don't be like this, y/n." "no, you're always hanging out with her," i say, "like, the one time that we're both free, you've already had plans with him." "well obviously i'm not free then, am i?" olivia tells me. "no, but it'd be nice if you could shoot him a quick 'hey! sorry, gonna hang out with my girlfriend because i haven't spend some quality time with her in a while'." "well we could spend time with each other if you weren't hanging out with jade 24/7," olivia spits out.

i sigh, "olivia, she's my roommate. do you expect me not to get along with her? we literally go to the gym in the morning most of the time." "you never ask me to go to the gym with you anymore," olivia says. "because you always say no! every time i ask you, you say no. you haven't gone with me once," i tell her. "y/n- just stop," olivia shakes her head, "i don't want you to escalate this any further, because it's not gonna go well." "oh, so this is my fault now," i nod, getting out of the bed. "no-" olivia sighs, and i shake my head, walking out of the room as i close it behind me.

olivia's pov
i should've just got off my phone. i turn my phone off, leaving louis on read.

i lay in bed, waiting for y/n to come back after i heard the apartment door close almost an hour ago.

i wake up, bed empty. maybe she's gone to the gym with jade.

i get out of the bed, walking out of the room. i look around the empty kitchen, then at the living room. i see y/n on the couch, asleep. i frown, feeling even more guilty.

i sit at the edge of the couch where she laid, in front of her. i tap her awake, and she sighs, opening her eyelids half-way. she looks at me, and i can't help but frown again. "you didn't have to sleep here," i tell her, "i was waiting for you." "i fell asleep out here," y/n whispers, closing her eyes again, "didn't mean to."

i look at y/n as she lays still, eyes closed. "lay down," she whispers, putting her arm up. i smile, laying down in front of her, pressing my back against hers as her arm goes around me. "i'm sorry for last night," i say, "it was my fault. i'm sorry i didn't watch the movie with you. i'm sorry i was on my phone, and i'm sorry for making it seem like it was your fault when you just wanted to spend time with me."'

y/n takes a few seconds to respond, "it's okay. i'm sorry for getting so angry at you." "no, you weren't even that angry. i cried myself to sleep, but that's not the point. you didn't get angry," i say, "so thank you, because i know i was getting really defensive. i'm sorry." "it's okay," y/n says, "i'm sorry you cried. i did too." "i'm gonna start crying again," i sigh, "i'm really sorry, y/n. i hated that." "me too," i feel y/n kiss the back of my head, "i love you, olivia." "i love you more," i respond. "and i... i'm sorry that i didn't pick a better movie. i was getting bored of it, too."

this made me chuckle a little, "it's okay. i promise that from now on, i'll watch all the boring movies with you, full attention." "not if we pick good movies," i hear y/n's smile. i turn around, putting my head up. y/n slides her arm under my head, and i lay on it. "and... louis and i aren't anything," i tell her. y/n looks down, "no, i'm sorry. i didn't mean to get so jealous of you two." "it's okay," i whisper, "we're just friends, i promise." "so are jade and i," y/n says. "oh, that- no, i just said that because i got carried away and picked the closest person you've been hanging around lately, which would make sense since jade's our roommate," i tell her, and i smile as she chuckles tiredly. i place my hand on her jaw, "have breakfast with me today?" "of course," y/n smiles. i smile back, leaning up and closing my eyes as i kiss her until my breath runs out.

i hold y/n's hand as we walk around the streets, looking at what was open. "where do you wanna go?" y/n asks. "literally anywhere," i say, "i feel like restaurants always have the same breakfast foods."

i slide into the booth as y/n sits on the chair opposite me. "thank you," i say, taking the menu and looking at it.

i look up as i hear a familiar voice call my name. "olivia?" louis smiles, walking over to me. i smile, seeing his friends find a seat a few tables away as louis stands on the side of y/n and i's table. "funny that you're here," he says, and i chuckle. "yeah, it is. having breakfast?" i assume. "yeah, just with my mates," he nods, looking at y/n, "congratulations on your game a few weeks back. it was a pleasure to watch." "thank you," y/n says.

i talk with louis for a few quick minutes, noticing y/n's quietness and weird energy she silently gave off. "anyways, i should head back to my table," louis says, "see you, olivia. it was nice to meet you, y/n." "bye, louis," i say. "nice to meet you," y/n responds, and louis smiles, walking over to his friends.

i look at y/n as louis walks away, seeing her looking at the menu. "sorry," i feel the need to say. y/n shakes her head, "it's okay." she changes the subject, looking up at me, "do you know what you're getting?" "um... no, not yet," i respond, looking at my menu. i look back up at y/n, before looking at the menu again.

we walk into our room, and y/n lays on the bed. "what's wrong?" i ask y/n, looking at her. "no, nothing," she shakes her head. "i can see right through you," i tell her, laying on the bed, stomach down.

i place my hand on her cheek as she stares at the ceiling. "i'm just..." she sighs, "thinking stupidly." "it's okay," i tell her, "what's wrong?" "does louis like you?" she asks. "as a friend," i tell her, repeating it, "as a friend." "he kept looking at you at the restaurant," y/n says, "he likes you." "he knows i have a girlfriend," i say, "that was opposite me." "you can still like someone that has a girlfriend," she tells me. "well it doesn't matter, because i'm with you, y/n," i tell her, "no one else. it's never gonna be someone else. i promise, y/n." y/n sighs, "sorry, i don't mean to be so jealous of you two." "it's okay," i whisper, moving on top of her, "thank you for talking to me about it." "i love you," y/n whispers. "i love you more," i smile, "only you."
