olivia ends up staying for the whole of lunch as i practised. i pick up the football, throwing it to gracie. she catches it, placing it in the bag.
"you played shit," olivia says as i walk past her. i smile, turning around to her as i stop walking, "thanks. i'd like to see out there," i say. olivia smiles too, "i'd beat you." "sure thing," i say, "why're you out here?" "just... watching you play awfully," olivia says. "alright," i say, "hurry up. bell went."
olivia walks beside me as we walk to physics. she stays quiet as we walk. "you good?" i ask. "no, your playing's got to my head," olivia jokes. "alright," i chuckle, "but seriously, are you okay?"
olivia looks at me, "are you being serious?" "yeah." i say, "i don't- if it's, like, weird... then you don't have to answer."
olivia's pov
y/n was actually being serious. my heart warms a little. "yeah... i'm fine," i lie. y/n chuckles, "you're still a terrible liar."i smile faintly, "no, it's fine. just... relationship problems. i don't really wanna talk to my ex about my current relationship." y/n takes a second to respond with, "alright." maybe i worded that really badly. maybe she thought that she was just my ex. i did wanna talk to y/n about this, she's good at comforting. i just don't want her to worry. she doesn't have to worry anymore.
y/n and i coincidentally walk beside each other as we walk out of physics. i smile as i see louis, and he smiles too, walking over.
i see y/n glance at louis and i as he puts his arm around my neck, pulling me closer. she looks away, walking faster so she was ahead of us.
"my dad still has my car," i tell louis as we walk to the car. "oh," he says, "why does he have it for so long?" "not sure," i say. "so you're gonna have to wait again?" he asks. i hum. "i'd take you home, but i'm heading to hayden's house," he says. "oh, it's fine," i say, disappointedly. guess i'll just wait an hour.
i sit on the steps as i hug louis goodbye. i scroll on my phone for what seems like eternity, when it was only five minutes. "waiting out here again?" i hear y/n's voice.
i look behind me, seeing her walking over. she sits beside me with a sigh, "sightseeing? bird watching? plane watching? cloud finding?" "shut up," i smile softly, "i have to wait." "i'l take you home," she says, standing up. i look up at her, "i feel bad, y/n."
"no, it's all good," she says, putting a hand down, "come on. i'd love to see you stay here for an hour, but i'm a good person." i chuckle, slapping my hand into hers. she holds my hand, pulling me up.
y/n lets go of my hand once i stand up. she bends down, picking up my bag. i smile as y/n places my bag on her shoulders, on her front half.
y/n starts up her car as i buckle up. "do you have to be home soon? i'm gonna get taco bell," y/n says. "fat," i say. "nothing wrong with it," y/n says, "just body positive. do you want taco bell?" "if you pay, then yes," i smile. "alright, big back," y/n whispers. i laugh, shaking my head, "body positive."
i look at y/n as y/n calls her mom. "hey mom," y/n says, stopping at a red light as she leans her head back. y/n mom says, "hi, y/n! how was school?" "school was good," y/n smiles, "how's home?" "good, connor's waiting for you. he spent half an hour just sitting at the door with his hot wheels and wouldn't budge when i told him that it was only lunch time. he eventually got up, though," her mom says, making me chuckle.
y/n chuckles, "well tell him he can wait there on the floor in fifteen minutes." "i'm not gonna tell him that," she laughs, "was that olivia laughing? or am i going crazy?" "yeah, she's here," y/n says, pressing on the pedal. "hi, mrs garcia," i smile. figured that i got demoted back to the last name instead of the first name. but shocked that she decided to bring me up, even if it wasn't me who was laughing.
