i rub olivia's back as she calms down. "i love you, y/n. you know that, right?" she asks. "i know," i tell her, "i love you more." "shut up," she chuckles, looking at me. "your eyes are getting puffy," i tell her. she smiles in defeat, rubbing her eyes with her hands. "still pretty though, aren't i?" she asks me with a half-joke tone, placing her hands on my shoulder.
i smile faintly, looking at olivia's lips. "still the prettiest girl in the world."
olivia's pov
she meant it. i could tell she did. i haven't heard someone compliment me in months. not even from louis.i look at y/n's lips, before looking back at her. "thank you," i whisper.
y/n puts her arms around my neck, and i bend down, slowly helping her stand up.
"goodnight, liv," y/n whispers, "i'll see you in, like, 20 hours." i smile, turning and facing y/n, "i hope you feel better in the morning. i'll see you soon. goodnight, y/n." "thanks, liv. hopefully i do," she looks at me with smile, "how about a goodnight kiss?"
i laugh, "you're teasing me!" "i'm not," y/n laughs softly, "i promise i'm not. just need one to have a good sleep, you know?" "okay," i smile, leaning down. y/n hums as i put my love into a goodnight cheek kiss.
y/n falls asleep, and i stare at the ceiling, thinking about what i wanted to do with louis. he hasn't texted back in a few days.
i never realized how charming y/n was. it was just something about her that makes my heart beat a thousand miles per second, something i haven't felt with anyone. not even louis. we've been friends for years, but something's changed between us. i think it's for the better. god... maybe i even had feelings for her.
i pick up my phone, texting louis after i've made my decision.
'can we talk??'
surprisingly, he responds in a few minutes.
'okay'
'meet at mine tmr at 9am'i like the message, turning my phone off. i didn't even wanna talk to him right now.
i wake up, looking at the time. "shit," i whisper, having thirty minutes to get ready.
i sit in the makeup chair, doing my makeup. i look in the reflection, still seeing y/n sleeping.
y/n's pov
i wake up, looking around the room. i wonder where olivia went. i lean over and pick up my phone, looking at the time. almost ten, pretty early. i hear the door open, looking at it.i furrow my eyebrows as olivia's eyes were black from mascara. "what's wrong?" i ask, pushing myself up. still hurts, but feeling better. "nothing," olivia shakes her head, closing the door as she walks in. "come over here," i say. olivia looks at me, looking down as she walks over to my side.
i look at olivia's face, furrowing my eyebrows. "wanna talk about it?" i ask. "not right now," she shakes her head, "i'm gonna take my makeup off." "okay," i whisper, "help me up?"
olivia leans down and i put my arm around her. she places a hand on one side of my waist, and i stand up. "got it?" she asks. "yeah, feeling better," i say, letting go of my arm as olivia takes hers off. i hold olivia's hand, walking to her makeup desk.
i let olivia sit on her chair, and i slowly place my leg on the side of her, looking at olivia. i smile as she places her hand on my waist, gently pulling me onto her lap.
olivia closes her eyes as i start to wipe her makeup off. "he's been seeing someone else," she whispers. i freeze, leaving the makeup wipe on her cheek as i hold it there. "are you serious?" i ask. olivia nods, "he... we've barely been physically seeing each other for, like, a month. turns out he was seeing another girl for a few months. took her out to dinner and shit like that... just told me today when i went to his to break up with him."
"what?" i breathe out. how could anyone cheat on olivia? "that's what i said," olivia says as i continue to wipe her face, "i... thank god i went over there to break up with him. if i didn't, he'd probably keep it from me until they were together."
olivia talks her feelings to me and i listen and give feedback to her, continuing to wipe the makeup. "pretty bad year for us already, huh?" i smile faintly as olivia smiles. "i guess so," she says. i look away, placing the last makeup wipe in the bin.
i look back at olivia, and she sighs. "thank you," she tells me. "of course," i say, "what can i do to make you feel better?"
olivia lays her head on my chest as i lay on the bed. "is this okay?" she asks. "great," i smile to myself. more than great. this was everything.
i put an arm around olivia, and she places her hand on my chest. "i'm still really tired," i say, "i just woke up when you came in." "did i wake you up?" she asks. "no," i say, "it was just good timing. or... bad timing." olivia softly chuckles, and i smile, looking down at her.
2 days later
i was starting to feel a lot better, and olivia was feeling better mentally, too."do you wanna go out to eat?" i ask olivia. "are you sure you're okay?" olivia asks. "yeah, i'm good," i smile, olivia mirroring it onto her lips.
i borrow olivia's clothes, and i get out of her bathroom and walk into her room. olivia looks at me as she does her makeup. "you don't need to do your makeup, liv," i smile, walking up to her, "you're pretty enough. so much more than enough."' olivia laughs, looking at me in the reflection as i place my hands on her shoulder. "thanks, y/n," olivia says, "i guess i'm so used to putting on makeup for louis. if i felt prettier with makeup, maybe he would see it, too. i guess he never did. or even if he did, he never said anything about it." "seriously?" i ask. "yeah," she says, "i even put it on to break up with him, god." "liv," i frown, wrapping my arms loosely around her neck, "you don't need to get used to it. you seriously do look beautiful with and without." "thank you," olivia smiles, "but i do genuinely want to put it on." "for yourself?" i ask. "for you, too," she admits. was she treating this like a date?
i furrow my eyebrows, chuckling, "liv, i literally see you every day without makeup." "i know," olivia laughs, "but it's different. it's for myself, too." "okay," i smile, leaning down. i close my eyes as i press my lips on olivia's temple for a second before removing it. i hear olivia giggle, and i look in the mirror. "natural blush," i grin. "saves me money," olivia grins, "i guess you gotta keep kissing me there so that it'll stay there for the night." i chuckle, "fine by me." this wasn't us being friends.
olivia finishes her makeup, and i stand up, walking to her. i smile, looking in the mirror. "look at me," i say. olivia turns her head, looking at me. i smile, "you look really good." "y/n, you don't have to say that," she chuckles, looking away. "no, trust me," i say, "i would've complimented you either way. promise." "thank you, y/n," olivia smiles, "you always look pretty." my heart swoons, and i show it with a laugh.
we get into olivia's car after picking a restaurant to eat. olivia drives there, and we walk to our table. i pull out the chair, looking at olivia. "aww," olivia giggles, "you're so cute!" "shut up," i laugh, olivia sitting down. i push her in, sitting opposite her.
i pay for our meals, walking back to the table. "alright, let's go, liv," i tell her. "we gotta pay," liv laughs. "someone already paid for us," i tell her. she stands up, looking at me confused, "are you serious?" "yeah," i nod, "someone under the name... y/n l/n?" olivia laughs, stepping out of the chair, "did you really pay? i thought you were going to the bathroom." "i did, then i paid," i say, tucking in her chair. "oh, thank you, y/n. i'll split it," she says. "no, it's all good. i got it," i say, "let's go." "thank you, y/n. really treating me well, huh?" she smiles. "just what you deserve," i grin, placing a kiss on olivia's cheek. olivia takes my hand, and we walk out of the restaurant. definitely not just friends.
