i sit down beside scarlett in the cafeteria. today was a quieter day. i look over at olivia's table as i hear my name from olivia's voice. "y/n made these," olivia says, smiling proudly as she picks up a slice of caramel slice. "last night?" conan asks beside her, wiggling his eyebrows. what a funny guy.

i smile as olivia laughs, shaking her head. "we just had dinner, i already told you!" she talks about me to her friends. "anyways," she says, "try it, guys." she breaks a few slices in half, handing them out. i keep my smile as they start to nod as they eat, saying how good it was.

i lay in bed. i hope the tea works. i can feel myself get tired, so i close my eyes. i hear a piano coming from outside. i sit up, walking to my window. i smile tiredly, leaning my hands on the window frame as i watch olivia play the piano.

she had placed her piano facing the window, but i couldn't see it. her head was down, watching her hands as they moved. "just stop your crying, it's the sign of the times," olivia sings. i smile a little wider. she was amazing. she gets through the whole song, and i start slowly clapping.

olivia looks up, face getting slightly red. "you were great," i tell her, "really good." olivia chuckles, "thank you, y/n. sorry, you look tired. are you trying to sleep? i can close the window." "no, you're all good," i say, "i drank the tea you gave me. i'm getting tired." "you sound tired," she smiles. "sorry." "no, it's nice," she says, "are you going to sleep now?" "yeah, i'm gonna try," i say. "goodnight, y/n," she smiles, "i hope you have a good sleep."

i curve my lips up, "goodnight, olivia. i hope you have a good sleep, too." olivia smiles wider. "and, um, feel free to keep playing and singing," i say, "i'd kinda prefer that. it's nice to fall asleep to that. just get off whenever you want to, of course." olivia giggles, "okay, y/n."

"how'd you sleep?" olivia asks as she gets into my car. "better," i nod, "only woke up twice, but once was to go pee, so i don't think it counts." "that's good to hear," olivia smiles. "how did you sleep?" i ask back. "i slept well," olivia says, "i only work up because i was, like, really dehydrated." "ugh, you're a mouth sleeper, aren't you?" i ask, "and a snorer?" "oh my god, no!" olivia says, laughing. "you're a bit defensive there," i chuckle.

olivia's pov
she laughed. it was a small chuckle, lasting a millisecond, but she laughed. i mean, it's because she thinks i'm a mouth sleeper and a snorer, but a win's a win. i guess my life's mission is to make her laugh again. a laugh where she runs out of breath. that sounds kind of stalker-ish and threatening, but i mean it in a good way.

i laugh again, "let me out." "i can't let you do that," she says, "unless you confess." "i'm only confessing that the rumour's a lie," i tell her. "i heard you snoring." "no you didn't, shut up."

y/n stops at a red light. "there's the football game today," i say. "i know," y/n says, a little sad, "are you going?" "well, it'd be first game, so yeah," i say. i wish y/n was playing. "are you?" i ask back. "yeah, i think i'm gonna go to all the games. i feel bad for quitting, showing up is the least i could do."

i look at the filled bleachers, sun setting. a lot of people were here, watching the game. i could only imagine a lot of them were disappointed when they found out y/n wasn't playing. i follow iris, madison and conan, and we find a seat with good view.

my eyes go to our team colours on the side closest to us, side of the field. she was in a cropped tank top, grey sweats on. i take a brief look at her abs that showed between her sweats and top. she looked really good. i watch as she talks to the girls in the football uniform, and i could only imagine how good she would look in it. i was jealous of everyone who got to see her in her uniform.
